I love when the side plots mirror the big plots. Park Dang-gu is not halfway as intense as Jang Uk/Mu-deok about Jin Cho-yeon, but his big confession involves defending her with his own body against her mother. It looked extremely similar to Jang Uk protecting Mu-Deok.

And then both of them question if they are really willing to stick it out for love, as both Jang Uk and Mu-Deok do, before ultimately deciding to stick together. They also are separated by the Great Sadness and get back together slowly over the second season.

It's a less intense but parallel story.

Oh lord, Hazbin and Helluva S3 both got dysfunctional rich families backing up theit youngest kid in defeating a narcissistic abuser, pulling strings to back up their kid with a ' working class background love interest ' cuz they knew its gonna overthrow the abuser, launch comolex chess games against the abuser's circle ( the Goetias even more so ), Angel Dust and Stolas unlearning their ' entitled rich boy streak ' and also letting go of their self pitying and vengeance arc with help of their soulmates.

And then they both got older brothers with immense social power who has been pulling strings against the enemies for ages
