''We have been taught to want the 'one truth'. Both ideas or methods cannot be 'right'. One must be right and the other must be wrong. This thinking is so deeply inbred in us that we regard it as inevitable and natural. Yet it is part of the 'belief system' arising from the sort of thinking determined by the Gang of Three (Socrates, Plato, Aristotle).''

One of the mod features I have planned for a later version of NBODE is a fridge. Literally. Because the normal Beta 1.8 generator of worlds doesn't create snow or ice. Now I see there's a mod for Beta 1.7 that has a fridge which has basically beaten me to it.

Anyone ever come up with a great gag they want to use in a show or comic but then watch something and find basically the same joke so you have to decide to keep the joke and hope people don't say you copied it or just scrap the joke entirely
Or alternatively you could just say the joke is a reference instead of it being a joke you came up with because if you say that it comes off as snobby and plagaristic
''Perhaps it is not the boxes (categories) that are the problem but the arrogant absolute certainty with which we hold a particularly boxed view of the world. ... At the same time as we are seeking smaller and more specific boxes we are also seeking larger boxes in the form of universal laws or principles. The dual process of 'splitting' (more specific boxes) and 'lumping' (bigger boxes) goes on all the time in science. In science the lumping process is an attempt to find universal laws. In life the lumping process is an attempt to simplify the world and to provide a convenient focus for emotions - as in racism.''
