Watching Orange is the new black before Shemeless probably conditionned my view on the serie. There are many common point between the two tv shows: they both talk about poverty, generational traumas, LGBT questions. But, when Orange is the new black becomes more and more bleak, things are getting better in Shameless. Where Orange isthe new black is hopeless, Shameless is positive, shows that even if life is not always perfect, there is still joy in the world. That's why I think that Shameless is optimistic despite the most dark moments. That's why it will stay one of my favourite show. It says that all the people, with a disability, struggling with adiction, traumas, mental healt problems can get by,even can be happy or soothed, sometimes.
