If it’s not too much,, that Muriel/MC’s child beginning to date stuff was tooo cute,,, I like to imagine Mc/muriel having a teenage daughter who is going through a moody phase and thinks they know better than their parents. Their bby girl tho gets cheated on her first love and she comes back home super upset and the fam gets a soft reflective moment.
Ooh this is so nice. (If you’ve read my breeding kink series, you know I already have the dynamic of twin kiddos and a daughter, and it took every fiber in my being to exclude the twins and leave it open-ended)
Characters: Gender neutral MC, Muriel, Your Daughter, Their Cheating Lover
Muriel knows that kid is trouble
When you ask if he’s referring to your daughter or her lover, he immediately snaps with “that…kid!”
You’ve never seen Muriel so frustrated
He doesn’t have proof of that kid doing anything wrong, so there’s not much he can actually say, but he knows
And for the first time in years, his daughter - their baby girl - refuses to take his advice
He felt like he’d been shot through the heart, rejected
He didn’t believe it
She’d always been a “daddy’s girl”, latching onto her dad and coming to him with her problems, and for him to see her so willingly ignore him…hurts
But, you remind him that she is growing up, and the she knows how to protect herself if anything does happen
She has to learn these things for herself
You sit her down explain to her that Muriel wasn’t your first love, and he wasn’t yours, and that it would be great if this lover of hers was, but to know that relationships end and new ones begin, etc. etc.
She nods in understanding, like she’s taking this to heart, and immediately goes to see them
Muriel doesn’t want to hurt the kid - he doesn’t want to hurt anyone - but he just doesn’t understand what he’s done wrong
It isn’t until she comes home one night, tears streaming down her cheeks, that she apologizes
You insist that there’s nothing to be sorry for, sitting her down in the front room and kneeling in front of her
Muriel is a concerned Papa, standing behind her and rubbing circles on his back, looking at you and widening his eyes, as if to ask “What happened?”
You shrug as subtly as you can, widening your eyes in response
She manages to hiccup out “They cheated on me.”
Muriel sees red, but you stop him from wringing their little neck
You hug her, and Muriel wraps his arms around the both of you
You shush her, letting her know that it’s alright, that she was going to be alright, that you knew how much she loved them
Muriel tells her, “Even if you don’t find anyone else, you’re never going to be alone, alright, little mouse?”
She laughs through her tears, Muriel not having called her that since she was ten years old
She throws her arms around Muriel, and he holds her there, letting her cry
You’re the only reason he doesn’t go have a stern-talking to with the kid…by himself
