Angsty Familial Sentence Starters
Not all families are full of sunshine and rainbows. Be it sibling to sibling, parent to child, cousin to uncle, people will always feel angry or sad and seek someone to cry with, or confront them for something the other did or didn’t do. As usual, feel free to change the pronouns as necessary.
"It's okay, I'm right here, I've got you."
"Nobody's watching, you can cry if you need to."
“I know you don’t like people to see you cry...but it’s okay. I won’t look, I promise, I’ll just hug you.”
"Don't cry, it's okay, I'm here!"
“It’s...crazy...as soon as we’re reunited, our family is broken again...”
“I miss Mom/Dad...”
“I couldn’t sleep last night.”
“Do you honestly think this is what he/she/they would have wanted?! Do you realize how selfish you’re being?!”
“I love my brother/sister/sibling with all my heart, but sometimes I wish I didn’t have to bear the burden of being the oldest and taking care of them.”
“Why are all the expectations thrust onto me though?!”
“If you’re just going to side with Mom/Dad, then fine! Just don’t expect me to trust you ever again!”
“You always do these things, and then you never apologize!!”
“Why are you such a brat?!”
“I’m trying to help! It’s not like you tell me anything!!”
“How the hell can I help if you don’t tell me anything?! I don’t know what’s wrong!”
“I miss [Name]...”
“If you’re going to throw a tantrum like a child, then I’ll just treat you like one too! Use your words!”
