PLAYING & PARENTS
The team spent most of today talking about our approaching workshop. We talked about what we like and dislike about events in an effort to build an agenda that would be valuable to as many participants as possible.
We also discussed our plans for IMTS this weekend and are ready to go. Can’t wait to see some equipment in person!
The rest of the meeting we focused on game play. First, the team performed an analysis of value v. difficulty for each scoring element. Not sure our results are in line with what we expect or what we want to do . . . may have to re-do that one. Then we played the game as human robots to see which techniques were most optimal. Very interesting results!
During all of this, the team parents had their first sit down meeting. They discussed the season, team funding and our goal of competing in multiple states. Everyone seems to be on board with plans and they will continue to be in touch periodically.

Spent most of the day in bed...
My body is warm and I am not feeling well at all. Wiggled out of bed two hours ago, hovered the flat, tidied up the kitchen, gotten dinner started. I am soaked... Daycare have a parents meeting today, but I have no sitter and don't at all feel like attending. So I am just staying snuggled up at home.
2nd Grade Parent Meeting - May 15th, 2011
Hey Parents!
Here is the information that we went over at the 2nd Grade Parent Meeting on Sunday, May 15th in Hwy34.
Above you will find a link to download the "Get Involved" sheet that explains all of the different ways that you can get involved with Hwy34 either during the summer or during the school year.
We are in need of a couple of things.
1) We need people to sign-up to bring food for our high school summer interns who serve your kids throughout the school year and then spend the summer up here at the church. They aren't paid anything so we like to provide them with lunch every Tues. & Wed. during the summer. If your community group would like to sign-up to bring a lunch sometime this summer, there is a sign-up sheet in Hwy34 and in K-2 Town where you can sign-up.
2) Summer Help - Each summer, we give our small group coaches the summer off because they have served from Sept-May. We are asking parents to step in during the summer for 1, 2, or 3 Sundays to serve in Hwy34. There is a sign-up sheet at the top of the stairs in Hwy34.
Here is a calendar of what's coming up over the next year:
Each month in Hwy34 we study one Godly Character Trait. There are 4 different Bible stories/lesson, but all that month they point back to the main Godly character trait for that month. Below is a list of what we'll be studying over the next year.
