you just opened a can of worms hsdjsj but here we go. i said it once and i Will say it again: mcu!peter is NOT peter parker. he is a weird ooc amalgamation of miles' storypoints and what the writers think nerdy teens act like. you can change some aspects of a character to make them fitting to your adaptation (see ps4 spidey, tasm, hell even raimi trilogy) but when you are ignoring core character traits and what makes the characters it's a big no from me. mcu!peter isn't a little shit (which pete is in highschool), he doesn't have money problems, the thing that made him so relatable to majority of readers (there are supposedly deleted scenes of him selling his toys, but that's what they are - deleted scenes), he barely faces any consequences (and consequences are THE peter thing, he never catches a break, he does something to benefit spider-man - it hurts peter parker and the other way around). also in comics peter doesn't have any friends in highschool, if they wanted to be so different from other movies That would be a major changing point, but like.. they don't really care about that so i don't know what i expected. the biggest thing for me is the complete ignorance of uncle ben, he is what makes spider-man! he is the reason why peter decided to help people! you don't have to show his death for the third time, no one wants that, but by erasing uncle ben you automatically erase a part of who peter is. there is that little part in ffh (which makes me furious) where we see peter take ben's suitcase on the trip to europe but at the end of the movie we learn that it was destroyed and neither peter nor may care! hello????? that brings me to aunt may. she is one of the most important people in pete's life and we barely get to see their relationship. she is ignored in favor of tony (by movies and fandom alike) and that's another thing - that whole plot of tony being peter's mentor takes away from peter's character and is against everything that went into creation of spider-man. i could go on and on on this subject but this thing is already getting lengthy so! in conclusion: mcu doesn't care about making spider-man movies but about adding another part to their plain universe, they ignore what makes peter an interesting character in favor of common misconceptions (shy, awkward and nerdy teen), they barely pay attention to his supporting cast, add unnecessary jokes and make Everything about ironman.
