Some modern Specs headcanons
Like really, amazingly good.
He was forced to play it a lot when he was younger in competitions and stuff, so he hates playing it now.
He always has to get the screws in his glasses tightened at least once a month.
So he made friends with the woman who does it (Beatrice) and she lets him in the back so they gossip while she tightens them.
"NO! Mush didn't!" "Lorraine did what?!"

He runs a cosplay blog, but never has the time/money to make the cosplays he really wants to make.
But he can cosplay a lot of things on a budget.
One time Elmer forgot to tell him something was a costume party until 20 minutes before they left.
He tore apart his wardrobe and made a great Lando Calrissian to match Elmer's Han.
He argues about robots and AIs
"We should treat them kindly. But we can't even treat humans right! We deserve the robot uprising!"
His favourite film is Jurassic Park.
But when he's sick he watches E.T.
If he has a fever he cries when E.T. dies, sometimes because he forgets that it doesn't stick, sometimes just bc it's so sad.
He also loves portmanteaus.
He does gymnastics and dance. (He also swims but he let's it fall to the wayside a little more than the others when things get a bit too busy).
He loves competing, and obviously loves winning, but it's not the be all and end all for him.
He's the kind of guy that competes for the fun of competing. Watching other people who are great at the stuff he loves is fun for him.
History and science are his jam.
He loves conspiracies. Even the ones he doesn't believe in (he doesn't believe in a lot of them).
The more outlandish the better, he loves reading the evidence for them, especially when the evidence really doesn't make sense.
