Daemons in the Machine show on view at MMOMA, Moscow, featuring a first frieze from Content Aware Studies Series and two films from the project. Special thanks to my collaborator Artem Konevskikh and curator Daria Parkhomenko for setting up a strong show and running one of the pioneering art and science institutions in Russia LABORATORIA Art&Science Space #egorkraftwork #kraftblog #parthenonfrieze #mmoma #daemonsinthemachine (at Moscow Museum of Modern Art) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpA2T3lnPBd/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=v29wkz4eipth
Just arrived from Paris to Moscow for Daemons in the Machine show at MMOMA, featuring a first frieze from Content Aware Studies Series and two films from the project. The frieze is a speculative Ai’s version of reconstructed block from the North Frieze of Parthenon. Produced in collaboration with Matthew Lenkiewicz. Except from the video showing speculative reconstructions of Parthenon Frieze by machine Learning algorithms. As part of the installation at Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg. Created in collaboration with @matthew_lenkiewicz #contentawarestudies #egorkraftwork #ml #ai #parthenonfrieze (at Saint Petersburg, Russia)
a new piece from Content Aware Studies series in Hermitage Museum, St.Petersburg. CAS_03 / Lucius-Verus; Carrera Marble, Polyamide 3D Print; 40x35x30cm. Produced in collaboration with Matthew Lenkiewicz. As part of the “Innovation / Artistic Medium Show” in Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg. In this work Machine learning algorithm (AI) reconstructed the missing fragment of Lucius Verus head (originally displayed in MET, NYC) based on the analysis of dataset developed for the project that included other fragments of the frieze. The work explores bizarre interpretations of the ancient frieze produced by A.I., matching and mismatching its motive and figurative aspects as well as automation of artistic labour. It speculates on the future of reconstruction of past seen through contemporary meta-archeological means of knowledge production. #cas #contentawarestudies #egorkraft #st_petersburg #hermitage #parthenon #parthenonfrieze #marble #carreramarble #newpiece #egorkraftwork (at Hermitage, St Petersburg Russia)
