The first time he was elected, there was very little of notice, until the failed Impeachment. He used that to his advantage, claiming that the “Established corruption of Washington was afraid he was coming for them” He played the fool while manipulating the system. There was no second election, there was a declaration.
Protests became riots, Riots became militias engaging National Guardsmen. With the splintering of America, there were no allies to aide, it was as though the world held its breath collectively to see what happened
There was no real unification until the massacre at Denver, when Federal forces opened fire on a convoy of refugees from the east, heading west through Denver. men, women, children, animals, all were slaughtered. The massacre itself became a topic of discussion at the Seattle conference between different state factions.
Thus was formed the Cascadian Republic, from Washington, Oregon, California, and the majority of the western states up to Texas and Iowa.
