Danny is deaf in his left ear.

It's a product of his accident, only partial and barely noticeable other than the occasional ringing of the ear or sudden water-in-ear feeling. But Danny doesn't really notice or mind (but mostly doesn't notice) due to his heightened senses and the fact the previous effects barely happen.

It comes to a head though when, after a particularly rough fight (maybe Vortex changing atmospheric pressure or Vlad/his parents trying a new invention, possibility a rough hit, possible crossover bs, etc), the water-in-ear feeling came back. Danny wouldn't mind at first, thinking it'd just go away like it usually does.

But it doesn't.

I dunno what else to put here. Feel free to extend.

Guys.....lets start putting subtitles on more videos and movie apps......and taking them more seriously in general.....

I am hard of hearing, partially deaf, and I can't understand anything unless subtitles are there...

Why don't more apps.....add better subtitles that actually pick up whats being said...

It's bad enough when perfect hearing people get frustrated at the audacity of me asking to repeat themselves, it's quite another when they repeat what I didn't hear in a slow, condescending tone, as though you're too stupid to have understood the first time around.

Like bitch I understand the letters and words you're saying WHEN. I. CAN. HEAR. THEM.

I use sign sometimes when I with my friends, but I have to wear my hearing aids with my family because they refuse to learn sign ^^"

npc drop! I like reds, oranges,  and yellows,,, a lot. Cherish the Dispater tiefling is partially deaf, and her snake familiar, Serafina communicates with her and others telepathically! She owns an apothecary in the town. Serendipity the Baalzebul tiefling works one of the booths at the festival! And Spargo, the Kobold mans the same booth with her.

Things we have done/said since my brother got diagnosed with deafness in his right ear:

An ongoing list:

Cultivated huge plots for fucking with his substitute teachers

"Stand on my right side"

"Got those Bluetooth ears, yo"

Sticks his finger into his left ear when he doesn't like what I'm saying

Blasts music to 'feel the bass' because he can't use headphones anymore

Repeating 'WHAT' constantly just to mess with us

"1/4th of the way to being Helen Keller 🤙"

*can't leave him alone rn and he doesn't like it & he's been questionably farting all day* "I'm not leaving you alone for an HOUR because there might be a MISSILE ATTACK and your DEAF ASS won't be able to get it and I'll get home to find you DEAD in a pile of your own shit"

Dad says 'this isn't a joking matter' and then proceeds to say 'can you hear me?'

Was told: 'that'll be a real advantage once you get married'

Taught him how to sign words/phrases like 'whore' and 'fuck you'... which is nice

Held his phone speaker up to his right ear to hear something better before realizing that he won't be able to hear it anyway

Yeeted me to his left side while I was talking shit in Walmart so he could hear me😂😂

I say to people I'm partially deaf, they assume that means I can't hear volume well, which is fair I think a lot of hearing impaired people struggle with that.

I actually can hear volume roughly as well as a regularly-hearing person, my problem is everything is muffled. I can hear your sounds, not your words.

So please stop yelling at me, it's not helping

hearing aid! I’ve seen a few artist now involve it in their designs and I really love the idea! like, no one can try to tell me alien Zim isn’t partially deaf anyway
