Yeah exactly she had interviewed him before and clearly knew his situation (or at least the vague details), but in this latest interview the impression I get is that she only just found out about the supposed partner (the 'sleuthing' line, going on about the 'our' making it seem like this is the first time he's said this) which makes it all the more obvious this is new information. Hard to believe this is all real and genuine and organic when he's suddenly be dropping these bombs in a one-month span without any prior mention/hint of them at all. This isn't about keeping the 'partner' happy, this is about his image and about aligning himself with a family-friendly, heterosexual, domestic, safe persona for the public.

So let me play devils advocate:

Up to this point, Sam was quiet and he kept on being private and you know what happened? The partner kept doing a myriad of ____ things saying “I’m the partner, I’m the partner,” and everybody got on her case about it and a whole lot of anon (maybe not you guys) talked a lot of crap about Sam not “claiming her”. So finally, the guy starts doing that. And now, everybody’s complaint is that it’s too much and too fast. You know, he can’t actually win, if you thinks about it.

And before any of you say oh, she should’ve been quiet and see private like he was…. Guess what? We have no control over that they decided what they wanted to do and all of the things that she was doing last year. He is now doing them. So, congratulations. You got what you wanted.

The hétero push is leaving a bad taste in my mouth; we went from just "partner" to making it very clear exactly the partner gender is (whether the name choice was accidental or not)

And I don't even want to get into the whole queer or not queer debate, but all of this is really making me rethink my opinion on SR

Come on, Anon! What is there to rethink? We have always known about this entanglement. 😭 Truly, think about it. It is not new information.

Besides, having a partner that is of the opposite gender does NOT mean a person is heterosexual, just the pair is. The gossip rags have always said he dated women. I said this last October: that we aren’t going to publicly shame people for who they choose to be in a relationship with on the basis of that person’s gender. He is partnered with a female. Absorb that….. now let’s let it go. It is what it is.

Also: TIMING. Notice that this pops one week before, we are getting Loustat back. 😉 So, you can get your fix on TV with the fictional characters (while we still have them). 😭

BO, your explanation was well thought out and well written. I agree with you. I have no issues with what Sam said in his interview. He needs to take a break. The role of Lestat is exhausting physically, mentally, and emotionally. The pictures actually show the weight that's on his shoulders, so I hope he has people around him who will look after him. If fans need to take a break from him, they should have that option too.

Fans were baited last year. Not by him. He was working. We learned about houses, vacations, and locations from the partner while he remained silent. As you said, it could be cultural differences but its something I won't forget anytime soon and something that will likely follow her if she pursue projects outside of Australia.

We have three more episodes left. Hopefully, no more baiting and no more attention grabbing stunts from the duo for the remainder of the year. After theirvplays, retire to their farm with Rani.

Thank you, Anon. Yes. Everyone deserves rest and relaxation. It’s been a long year for fans and a grueling one for Sam. I do expect at least one to two more shows of solidarity from Sip, but I’m gonna give them as much attention as I would give them if it were Jacob and his spouse doing shows in the UK—which is to say: ABSOLUTELY NONE. Thank you for your kind and measured response.

is Sam gonna be holding back going forward and more guarded? Because there is a change and I hope Jokob doesn’t think it’s him. I’m not saying Sam is in the wrong but sometimes that guy from last year shows then he corrects himself. Is there a reason for this behavior. Like is he afraid he won’t get other castings or that his partner will leave him?

My take: Yes; there is absolutely a reason for the shift. You are clocking the real/time corrections correctly. No, that’s not what he is afraid of. I’m a bit suspicious, but not ready to say anything until there is more evidence for my theory. I’m very curious how far they will take this; if we’re not resist it will tell us a lot about the goals at hand,

What I am now convinced of, is that this narrative was carried out so close to the start of the season to give us the least amount of time to respond/react.

one of the things I think that's changed between jam, is the other party. This person was present in Toronto when they were filming, she's present now in New York city. That's why they're just not spending the time outside of the show they used to
