One of the many things that fascinate me about Hinduism—the themes it manages to offer its plethora of deities. I’m not particularly religious but they’re fun to read, no?
Here’s Parvati’s Manifestations, a series for my fascination with themes and symbols.
(The written parts are all lifted off the Internet. I don’t know shit.)
Parvati as (1/?) :
Durga
Durga’s themes are power over evil and negativity, knowledge and sustenance. Her symbols are fire, yellow-colored items, lions, rice bowls and spoons.
Kaali
Kaali’s themes are rebirth, cycles, joy, courage, hope, cleansing and change. Her symbols are flowers, dance, iron, swords, peacock feathers and honey.
Gauri
Gauri’s themes are spring, protection, fertility, harvest, beauty, humor, youthfulness, wishes and equality. Her symbols are balsam, golden-colored items, milk, mirrors and lions.
