Parvati Holcomb from The Outer Worlds is Canonically Asexual and Homoromantic!
I am once again looking for more outer worlds blogs, since there’s not a lot of content of it on my dash? If u post about outer worlds like or reblog or comment on this post please I would love to follow u!
During the conversation with Parvati, you have the opportunity to tell her that you are also ace and it’s so nice to see her so happy and excited to find someone else like her, who can relate and share her experiences. And she says it helps her feel less broken, knowing that there are others like her and it’s all just so wonderful.
You can also say you don’t feel romantic attraction either and at first I was hesitant to choose that option. I was worried she’d hear that and think that maybe we don’t have anything in common after all and that she wouldn’t show that same excitement. Like, just given how aspec identities are usually treated, sure, she’s ace, but she still experiences romantic attraction so she’s at least somewhat ‘normal’ implying that I am not. I’m not used to positive ace rep, and certainly not aro rep, so I was expecting the writers to show the same shitty beliefs.
But that doesn’t happen. Parvati hears you’re aroace and still gets so excited because you’re both ace and that matters. She might not be aro herself, but it doesn’t diminish your similarities. I guess that kinda goes to show the sort of receptions I’ve experienced when trying to talk about my orientation. Very few people seem to be able to wrap their heads around being aroace and the nuances around aspec identities and they always seem to be looking for an excuse to discredit us, tell us how/what we should actually feel. Even other aspec people aren’t above this unfortunately, especially when it comes to trying to be the ‘right kind’ of aspec to be accepted by exclusionists and aphobes.
Aspec people are always made out to be the villains or inhuman in media, so Parvati is just so incredibly refreshing and wonderful, and she’s so sweet and full of life, and she’s still allowed to look at another woman and say, “Did you see her arms??” So yeah, all of this is just to say that I love Parvati and I’m just so grateful for her and this game.
"I'm glad the boss picked you up." FELIX! This is why I love bringing Felix and Parvati together cause they're sweet as pie
OKAY SO, did ya’ll know that if you don’t complete parvati’s questline she essentially elopes with ada
