How would passive nm sans react if his S/O is sleep deprived and never and I mean never takes off their hoodie and wear sweats as well.
Ha sammmmeee...
Hmmm I think that Passive would most likely be worried? Like, how come they haven't been getting sleep? If it is something that he can help with, he of course would! He knows that humans and or even other monsters need to sleep, and it could be dangerous if they do not.
He would question them about it and ask why they aren't getting sleep, then suggest that he could help them out with it if they have problems falling asleep! He loves listening to people talking about things, and he could even read them a story if they think that that would help at all.
He just worries about them and will do anything in his power to help them get rest!
Oh! Oh! The "I'm glad that you are here." prompt for Passive! Please! And preferably maybe his s/o or something tells it to him because he's a precious bean that deserve to know that he's cherished!
This one kinda hurt me to write lol
Today was the day that Passive was dreading.
It was the day of the twins birth.
Passive was alone under the tree, Dream was invited to hang out by the villagers, and he already knew what that meant… they were throwing his brother a party, and Passive wasn’t even invited.
The villagers seemed to enjoy hurting him for some reason.
But, you know, Passive didn’t care! He wasn’t going to be bothered, and Dream was having fun… so who cares. That’s good.
Passive was sitting under the tree, reading a book that he’s already read three times, humming softly under his breath. He was pretty happy… At least, that’s what he was trying to tell himself. He was happy, he didn’t care that he wasn’t invited to his twins birthday party. It was just something that… he needed to deal with.
It happened sometimes.
Not the, you know, birthday thing but, honestly, Passive got left out really often. He didn’t care anymore.
Before he could get too into the story, he got startled by a shadow standing over him, “Excuse me?”
Passive lifts his head, looking up at the person. It was a person that he knew. They never bullied him and whenever they were around, they would stop people from bullying him! It was really nice.
“Oh… Y/n, what do you need? Why aren’t you at Dream’s birthday?”
“Dream has enough people there, I have a gift for you” They smile, holding up the box and sit down beside him, placing it down on his lap.
Passive looks down at the box, not saying anything for a second or two. They got him a gift? He didn’t… he didn’t really expect anyone to find him something.
Slowly he opens the box, peeking in. There was a new book, it smelled like a new one… he lifts it out, rubbing his thumb over the leather binding the pages, and looks over at Y/n, his sockets wide, “You got… you got me a book? I didn’t expect anyone to get me a gift.”
“Well… I'm glad that you are here." they say, with a shrug of their shoulders, smiling, “and I want you to be happy with a gift.”
Passive doesn’t say anything to that, looking down at the book again. Slowly purple tears drip down onto the leather, so he reaches up wiping his eyes, “Right right… I ah… T…Thank you, that is very kind of you”
(Also, random thought , wouldn’t nightmares stain blend in with his goop- )
The answer to that is!...Yes.
There was an old insult in the village.
"You're worse than Passive's soulmate!"
It was something that… a lot of the villagers seemed to enjoy using, just to mess with each other. They would never use it near Dream, but Passive? They thought it was so funny to say. Or "I feel so bad for your soulmate. They're stuck with you" and slowly…
Passive became afraid of the idea of his soulmate.
Were they going to be stuck with him? Would they feel unhappy that they had to deal with him? He didn't… he didn't want to force someone to be with him! If they were unhappy with him then- ugh, how could they have done this?
The villagers tainted something that was supposed to make him happy. Something that was supposed to make him feel safe.
Now all he felt was fear.
…
He was sitting under his mother tree, his legs crossed under himself, and he was reading a book. He felt relaxed cause the others hadn't been bugging him much. It was just him… his brother was spending time with the villagers.
Passive decided to just stop trying to get his brother to stop spending time with them. He knew that they didn't care about Dream, they just cared about the good feelings that he gave them. He wanted… he wanted his brother happy.
And he knew that they wouldn't make him happy, but he didn't listen.
Passive perks up when he heard a voice. "Excuse me?" He looks up quickly to see a person standing near the tree. He stands up, putting his book down. If they got too close he would handle it, but he would rather not deal with this.
"Yes? What do you need?"
Why were they talking to him? They didn't seem like they came from around this place, which was a little strange. Why would they be here if they weren't part of the village? He saw their mark covered their arm.
"I'm a traveler, can you show me on my map where I am?" they hold up their map.
Passive clicks his teeth together. So they didn't know who he was, did they? That made… that made sense. He slowly walks over, and leans to look at the map. They press their shoulder against his own, "I'm trying to get here, do you think I'm going the right way?" they press their finger to the map at the town.
"Oh-" his eyes shoot down to look at where they were pressing against each other, and his breath hitches a little in his chest. Oh no. The black marking now was covered in rainbows. Shit shit shit. "That… That is ah…" he clears his throat before continuing "That is where you are now. My village"
"Oh! That's great then, would you maybe show me around?" They look at him with such a bright smile.
Passive lets out a soft mrrr sound and shakes his head, backing away "I need to keep watch on the tree. I'm sure you can find your way" he turns away, rubbing his arm. He could hear their footsteps slowly starting to go away. His knees buckled, sending him down to the ground and he coughs, catching the breath that he didn't realize he had been holding.
They didn't realize. They didn't know.
He was fine… he was safe.
Once they found out and learned who he was, they wouldn't even want to have him as their soulmate. They would be happy he sent them away. He crawls closer to the tree, curling up against the bark shutting his eyes.

(His flower means Delphiniums are a symbol of reaching the impossible, and are associated with dreamers everywhere. They also represent fun, lightheartedness and levity in situations, and may indicate attachment when given as a gift.)
Two twins.
One made of positive energy and the other of negative. Two sides of the same coin, never one without the other.
Or, at least, that's what a lot of people would expect. Dream never meant to do it but, you see, he grew attached to the attention that the townspeople gave him, and they loved him! It was very nice, but he didn't know how they treated his brother.
They hurt him, abused him, honestly. They threw rocks at him, insults, and everything that they could think of. He tried to ignore it! He really did, but when he felt like he was finally going to snap, listen to the voice whispering to him to eat the apples.
Eat them and grow powerful, make the others care about him, his brother found out what happened. He stood up for him, yelling at the townspeople, saying that if they didn't want both then they couldn't have one of the brothers.
After that... they left.
They left their AU, left to go and explore. Passive felt like he was causing his brother grief, but Dream always told him that he would do it over and over again! There was no way that he would pick random people over his own brother. It made Passive cry, and they hugged for the first time in... such a long time.
They had a fun time, exploring different AUs and learning more about each other, there were things that they both didn't know about the other twin, and they found it a little funny.
Sometimes they would argue, Dream not wanting anyone to feel negative feelings while he tried to explain that he NEEDED negative feelings, there was no way for anyone to live a life without negative feelings at all, it's just human or monster nature. "Do you want me to starve? To end up dying? You'd kill me!" And that, luckily, made Dream realize; at least a little.
They've met a lot of people. Dream made friends with someone named Blueberry from Underswap and Ink, a weirdo. Passive doesn't trust Ink... and Passive met Killer, Dusty, Axe, Error, and Cross.
Everything was going very well!
They've met a lot more people but those were all the ones that decided to stay with them and stick around. Passive was happy to make friends... even if some of them teased him because of his height. How humiliating.
Now one person that they met was... a person with the name of Y/n. He thought that they were a very interesting person, whenever they spoke his soul would feel so strange. Warm. No, hot. Burning even, but it was such a nice feeling, and it almost made him hard to breathe but he liked the struggle.
He loved being near them, and he had no idea why! It was... a little embarrassing if he had to be honest.
But sometimes he would make excuses to go and see them, but lately, whenever he thought about going to see them, that nice burning feeling turned into a tight feeling. He didn't like not being able to breathe anymore.
Today, when he woke up, he felt a tightness in his chest and a tingle in his throat, causing him to shutter. He turns his head to see his brother, luckily still sleeping. He slides out of the bed, covers his mouth with his hand, and hurries to the bathroom. Once he got there, he leans over coughing up something into the sink and his sockets widened when he saw what it was.
Petals.
They looked like a Delphinium flower, but those were dangerous. Most likely just for humans but, you know, still! He reaches up, putting his hand over his mouth, mumbling, "Why would I have petals?"
And with that, he tugs up his shirt to look at himself in the mirror and it caused his soul to skip once... maybe twice.
Roots were curled around his ribs and flowers were growing slowly, they were small at the moment but they were still there. How long has this been going on?
"Brother? Are you alright?"
He jumps and tugs his shirt down quickly, looking over at the door. A sleepy voice of Dream could be heard on the other side, "I'm fine!" he said, maybe a little too quickly. He pushes the door open, hurrying by his brother, "I'm going to get breakfast"
He ignored Dream calling out to ask him if he was sure that he was fine. His body was shaking a little as he thought of everything. Why the hell would flowers be growing in his chest? He needs to find the answer to this...
Finally, he got a perfect idea! He should ask Error about it but then that would show them that something was going wrong with him, and he would much rather nobody know what was wrong with him. Ugh. He may just... try to ignore it.
That might not be the best idea, not at all, but it was the only idea he had at the moment. Maybe if he ignored it it'll go away by itself... stupid. Has he ever been so stupid?
Over the next few weeks, he avoided Y/n, knowing that whenever they were around, the feeling in his chest got worse and he couldn't breathe. The petals had gotten worse too, they cut against his bones and the vines tightened around his bones a lot. It ached, it made his body hurt to even move.
And... he knew that the others were starting to notice. Killer asked him about the way he wasn't moving a lot, and Axe asked if he was fine since he was moving very slowly, and letting out little sounds.
He tried to tell them that he was fine... but the one that noticed the most was Dream, and that frightened him. Dream would stare at him silently, then look away when Passive looked and he knew that Dream knew something was wrong. The fact that his brother hasn't asked confused Passive, did he know that he would just lie? He has been lying a lot... he didn't like it.
Didn't like it at all.
Today he was laying in bed when he heard knocking, making him let out a soft groan. He knew that it wasn't Dream, even though they shared a room his brother was out with Ink and Blueberry, and Dusty most likely went with them... he seemed to enjoy coming around with them, for whatever reason, and Killer was here so it might be him.
"One moment" he calls out, pushing himself to sit up but his arms gave out under him, causing him to fall back down onto the bed, letting out a groan. What the hell? He tries to push himself up again, his bones shaking and clicking against each other. He couldn't even push himself up, his bones were aching too much. Damn it.
Damn it all.
"D...Don't come in!"
Even against his word, he heard the door open and Y/n's voice, "Passive, what's going on? You've been avoiding me and Dream told me that he thinks something is wrong"
Of course his brother.
He doesn't answer for a few seconds, unsure of what exactly to... say to that? He has been avoiding them, there is something wrong.
"I don't know how to answer that," he says, weakly. His whole body hurt. "I don't know what's going on, Y/n" he slowly turns to lay on his back, looking over at them. They frown, walking over slowly and sitting down beside him rubbing his shoulder lightly.
"Can you try to explain?"
His breath hitches at the touch, it causing a surge to go through his body, and he turns to cough up the petals and flowers down onto the floor beside the bed. The petals were coated in a light purple glow... his magic was leaking, a very... bad thing.
Y/n jumps, pulling their hand back quickly staring at him with big eyes, "You... You have Hanahaki Disease?"
They knew what the sickness was?
"I... have no idea," he says, with a weak laugh. "I did not have it in any books. W-What... What is it?"
Y/n sighs out slowly and explains the sickness and as they explained, his cheeks quickly went a bright purple color. Oh... that makes a lot of sense, it does, but he doesn't really want to admit that it sounded right.
"That means..." he mumbles, and shuts his mouth tight, turning his head away and then looking back at them, "That means that I love someone?" Y/n nods. Well, that REALLY explains a lot. How was he supposed to admit to loving Y/n? He knew that he liked them for a while now, they were so kind, who wouldn't love them? Sure, he was a guardian and prince sorta but he was the guardian of NEGATIVE energy. What kind of person would want to date someone who brings negative feelings where ever they go? Y/n deserved better.
He didn't realize that they had started to speak until they tap his arm, "Passive?"
He flinches away and looks at them with big eyes shocked. "Oh um I... I'm sorry, I didn't hear you" They frown but shake their head, "It's okay," They say, "I'm just worried about you. You need to tell the person your feelings, this seems really bad"
The idea of that made him make a soft mrrr sound, looking off to the side and he slowly takes Y/n's hand into his own, "I am... not sure how to tell you this but you are the one that I have found myself loving, Y/n" His voice was so shaky, and he was embarrassed but he knew that they would blame themselves if he ended up dusting because of them. It wasn't their fault but still.
His breath suddenly hitches, and he felt like he could breathe better. His eyes shoot down, then up at them again, waiting to see their reaction.
Y/n was staring at him with big eyes, looking shocked then they smile and put their arms around his neck, pulling him closer, "Of course! I love you too, you should have told me, you idiot" they kiss his cheek.
He had to bite back a groan at the touches, he still felt sore. "I'm sorry" he mumbles, and hugs them back, clenching onto the back of their shirt. He... worried about what this would cause but was also very excited. This was going to be a lot of fun most likely!
(Your POV)
You knew about your feelings for the being of negative energy, Passive.
You would expect yourself to not, you know, like someone who's supposed to bring only negative energy but you've seen how kind that Passive could be. He takes the negative feelings from people so they feel better, you've seen how he treated his friends...
It was adorable! He was much more kind than he gave himself credit for, and you hated the idea of him thinking that he was a bad guy because you knew, just knew, that he wasn't the bad guy.
The only thing that really bothered you, was the fact that you had gained feelings for him. You tried your best to keep them secret, and you had a feeling that you did that very well. It seemed as though he had no idea! You were... happy and sad about that.
Well, lately, he hadn't been coming to see you. It was strange, normally he would come to check on you or at least come to say hi. He always said he was just in your world to collect things and figured he would waste time coming to greet you. You had a feeling it was an excuse to come and see you, which was just adorable, honestly.
But the fact he hasn't been coming was... worrying. What if something happened to him?
There was no way for you to get to his world, you couldn't check on him, and he didn't have a phone that you could use to call him, so it was left up to either him to come and tell you that he was fine or for one of the others to come and tell you he wasn't.
Maybe he was avoiding you?
No, why would he be avoiding you?
You two were friends, and there was no way for him to have found out about your dumb little crush on him. He wasn’t the smartest when it came to that…
That wasn't you just hoping that he didn't find out and was avoiding you... And then, Dream came.
You heard a knocking against your front door, and when you went to open it, you saw Passive's brother.
His name was Dream, and he was the guardian of positive feelings... He didn't look that positive, though.
"Y/n, hi, may I come in?"
"Oh- uh... Hey Dream, yeah, come on in" you open the door wider for him, and he comes in looking around.
Dream wasn't one you were very close to, not that you didn't like him! Just... You liked his brother more.
"So what's going on? I'm sure you didn't come for just a friendly chat?"
"I wish I did" he shakes his head with a soft sigh. "It seems as though something is happening with my brother. He does not wish to tell me anything and I am hoping if he sees you, he would tell you what is happening. Would you mind helping me find out?"
You look at him with big eyes, frowning. Something was wrong with Passive? You knew that that was going to happen! What was going on? You nibble your bottom lip, then nod to show your agreement, "Of course, just take me to him and I'll talk to him about it"
Dream smiles, nodding and lead you to the portal to go to their world, or at least where they live. The portal was rainbow so Ink most likely helped.
After you got there and spoke to Passive, you saw how weak he looked and how tired... and you learned what was going on.
You two spoke for a while, feelings were explained… health was regained, and then, you were part of their group! In a way.
The Bad Sanses started to call you their parent, mostly Killer doing it as a joke and then the others followed after… mostly Killer though. Honestly.
He blinks, his cheeks quickly going a light purple color "You... you want to hug me? Really?" he smiles, turning his head away and poking his fingers together. He's shocked, and honestly a little confused. Why would anyone want to hug him, when they could pick other people to?
"Well, I won't... say no" he holds out his arms, looking at you. He's adorable.
