The term 'salati' refers to an ancient passage used by the Roman soldiers, linking the villages of Alagna Valsesia in Piedmont and Gressoney-La-Trinité in Aosta Valley. It is reached by two modern cableways, a gondola from Gabiet above Gressoney-La-Trinité and a cable car from above Alagna Valsesia, making it an important link for the Monterosa Ski area, which is one of the largest in Italy. Remarkably, despite being nearly over 3,000 metres above sea level, there isn't much snow on the ground during the summer months, so it probably has its own microclimate. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: It depends on where you are based, i.e. in Val di Gressoney or Valsesia. There are more regular bus services departing from Pont-Saint-Martin through the Val di Gressoney with 'V.I.T.A'. Otherwise, you can take a bus from Vercelli to Alagna Valsesia with 'ATAP'. ______________________________________ #PassoDeiSalati #AlagnaValsesia #ValSesia #Piedmont #Piemonte #MountainLake #MountainScenery #MountainScape #MountainLovers #ScenicLocations #Italia #Italy #OurPlanetDaily #EarthOutdoors #EarthFocus #Jaw_Dropping_Shotz #PiemonteConte #Piemonte_In_Grande #Ig_Piemonte #MegaPiemonte #Visit_Piemonte #AdventureTravel #Voyaged #Italianeography #IgersItalia #InstaItaly #Raw_Italy #NoFilter #TravelBlog #DiscoveryEarth (at Passo dei Salati) https://www.instagram.com/p/CUXVJQGIddF/?utm_medium=tumblr
