Patanga "Patanga" 1985 Germany Private Prog Folk Rock
Under the name PATANGA - birds, called the symbol of freedom in ancient Vedic literature, hid composers and musicians Heinz Goebel (sitar, panflute, keyboards, banjo), Gerd Janus (bass), Frank Usarski (guitar) and Hans-Wulf Von Uslar (table, percussion), since March 1983. For a group, music is a universal way of communication, which, according to the knowledge of many cultures, reaches a person as a whole only if he can meet him on three levels. For this reason, PATANGA combines in its compositions a rhythmic level and a pulsating element of time with a melodic level that describes the space in such a way that the dance element captures the listener as an expression of freedom and joy of life. As a positive public reaction to this concept, you can, for example, cite such lines from the Hannover press dated November 16, 1984: "How many applause are needed for such a high level of performance and the apparent joy of creating such music ?!".....~ An obscure German quartet, which in the short time of its existence has released only this single, eponymous studio release, demonstrating the strong influence of instrumental indicators, focused mainly on the western structures of compositions. The album is completely instrumental, mostly subordinate to a certain concept, and sometimes with its sound it assumes that the musicians of the group may well have had classical preparation. .....~ For those who get past the pipes of pan, a beautiful acoustic folk or ethnic folk album from a little known group of musicians from Germany. The players are Heinz Goebel on sitar, pan-flutes, banjo, keys, Frank Usarski on guitars, Hans-Wulf v. Uslar on tablas and percussions, Gerd Janus on bass. The last track is the most progressive and for that reason , it has the wonderful spelling of 'pazifik'. It sure is fun to explore this great muzik!.... Line Up
