Decided I should make a pic of all three of my Shovel Knight OCs together in one drawing. ^_^
Thanks to Jess for helping me come up with her name! ^_^ So, I recently started getting into Shovel Knight...haven't played the game or anything, but I love the feel of the game and the characters in it! And, I ended up naturally getting drawn into the idea of making an OC. XD I could see her being implemented gameplay-wise a "cosmetics" case, sort of giving non-ability granting costumes or accessories just for "the fun" of it all, perhaps as a secondary amiibo character to give "reference" clothes like other games do with other amiibo. Patchwork Knight is the village seamstress. A little sister of Tinker Knight (in age, not size, for obvious reasons), she's terrified for the fate of her brother in the Order of No Quarter, and wishes his safety. For this reason, she has thrown her support against the Order, and has instead devoted all of her support towards Shovel Knight, in the hopes that he'll disband the order and bring her big brother back. Unskilled in combat, despite her dual pin-blades, Patchwork Knight is content to stay in her shop, crafting new clothes and costumes for others. Just give her a blueprint of what you want, and she'll speedily whip up a fun accessory! Pros: Creative, detail-oriented, efficient. Cons: Nitpicky, worry-wart, weak.
After getting good work done on "base" designs for Patchwork Knight, I felt like it was naturally to draw a design for Body Swap Mode. ^_^ The bowler hat and bow tie idea comes from the original idea I had for Patchwork Knight's persona, where she WAS a member of the Quarter, and doll-and-tea party-themed, instead of a seamstress. Helped keep the "silhouette" flow, so I kept onto it.
Since I designed Patchwork Knight with her armor for her first design, I decided to give her an armorless design, especially to show her helmetless. ^_^ There seems to be a running idea of making Tinker Knight a dwarven-esque race for his unhelmeted design, so I decided to go with that for Patchwork Knight. ^_^
“I will defend you to whatever end.” She paused, lowering her eyes. “Always, my queen. I will defend you forever.”
