i think that princess and the frog is sort of perfectly tailored for a frame narrative or a “story within a story”. like the story could pretty easily be told through flashback (like the musical adaptation of the grinch, where an older max is telling the story of how the grinch stole Christmas, or how tangled is technically a story being told by eugene about his adventures). who could the narrator be? reasonably, it could be almost anyone in the narrative. it could be tiana and naveen telling the story to their kids. It could be lawrence in prison or on trial for his crimes trying to plead his innocence. It could be Lawrence trying to sell his story to a tabloid. It could be Ray or Evangeline or both

someone please give ray and the fireflies a backstory? was evangeline a star all along? was she once a firefly? Are all stars just fireflies who have died? what are the firefly rules of 1920s New Orleans? because we can infer that people can hear them talk (judging from ray talking to fake naveen) so the rules of being a firefly or animal in universe are very CLEARLY different, so what are they?

naveen has such massive himbo energy, and it is very important to me that we respect that he’s a bitch idiot who loves his friends and is willing to sacrifice himself to help his friends and loved ones follow their dreams. an integral part of his character is that he wakes up every day and chugs lethal amounts of Respect Tiana Juice

i may not have any screenwriting credentials (im unfortunately an econ major, though im honestly in the major bc my parents refused to pay for a degree in what im passionate in, but im getting off topic here), but im filled with such love for princess and the frog that i will volunteer my services to write scripts for new princess and the frog media. disney please i will do what i must in order to get this job

Naveen should DEFINITELY have more security than he does. There is no WAY that the royal of a country in the 1920s doesn’t have bodyguards, especially when going to a different country. (y’all know what happened to Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and he wasn’t even a prince) Even if Naveen himself is broke, his parents have money, and no self respecting king or queen would send the heir to the throne out into the world with no protection besides a grumpy fat old man. Nah. Musical Naveen’s gonna be introduced attempting to give his bodyguards the slip, One Jump Ahead from Aladdin style

intermixed with our fave frogs and their adventure, there should be some more scenes of Charlotte and Tiana’s mom looking for her. this hoe up and disappeared from the la bouff estate during a party, and left her clothes and everything behind. you mean to tell me that not one person cared? nah. give me Charlotte being a killer BFF and turning the streets of new orleans upside down looking for tiana, not just thirsting over fake naveen

Naveen gets a backstory. Naveen gets to sit down and actually talk to someone about his life and not be made fun of for it. Let him share his story

Tiana’s mom gets a fleshed out character besides “I want grandkids”. How’d Disney get Oprah to be Eudora’s voice in the movie only for her to lament Tiana’s hard working lifestyle and lack of husband and children? No!!!! She gets a fully fleshed out character instead of a caricature of a woman with a childless adult daughter.
