All the acts of heroism throughout human history have always, always, happened at times when the easiest option would have been to not take it.
Whether those actions were as big as the ones of brave soldiers giving their lives for the greater good...
Or as small as someone taking the first step in changing his/her life for the best...
It was never an easy action to take.
Life will give you the opportunity to be brave, but it's up to you to take it.
