Can we please talk about this feeling that so many people are carrying right now but nobody is saying out loud.
The feeling that you are somehow late. That everyone else figured something out that you missed. That there is a timeline you were supposed to be on and somewhere along the way you fell off it and now you are just watching everyone else hit milestones while you are still standing in what feels like the beginning.
That feeling is lying to you. And it has been lying to you for a long time.
Here is what is actually happening.
You are not behind. You are in the foundation stage. And the foundation stage is the most invisible, most misunderstood, most underestimated part of any story worth telling. Nobody takes pictures of the foundation. Nobody posts about it. Nobody celebrates it in real time. It does not look like progress from the outside because most of what is happening is happening underground where no one can see it yet.
But that does not mean nothing is being built.
