like, do maxi have magic that makes them invisible or undetectable or something? can angui hypnotize people or camouflage?

because it's been mentioned before that maxi are really skilled hunters

and anguis are like snake-people and in most stories snakes have a hypnotic effect if you stare into their eyes

or maybe their scales could change to camouflage them into their surroundings

Maxi magic was mentioned in chapter 25 but maxis can manipulate gravity. Once a maxi touches a person, object, etc in any way, they have the ability to increase or decrease the force of gravity on that object. For example, in 25, Calix uses the magic on one of the human advisors' gun and increased its weight to pin it to the ground. When the ability is used, a certain amount of the gravity changed gets pushed onto the user. Different changes in gravitational pull result in different amounts of weight on the user. For example, making an object float would end in all of the weight from the object falling on the user. But if it's only a little bit lighter, the user probably won't even notice a difference. The ability can be used on multiple objects at a, however the weight from the objects will build up.

The anguis ability is similar to traditional snake lore. Angui have the ability to hypnotize a target using their eyes and their voice. The eyes are used to draw a target in but the voice is necessary to keep them hypnotized. An anguis can hypnotize someone to do any action or repeat anything told to them after being hypnotized. However, they cannot access any information known to the person hypnotized beforehand. For example, if you ask a hypnotized person to write their name, they can't do that. However, if you showed them or told them their name and then asked them to write it, they could do so. Idk if this relation helps at all but it's like Shinsou's quirk from My Hero Academia. If the hypnosis lasts a while, the user will start to lose feeling in their body, eventually resulting in temporary full body paralysis. The amount of time that the user is able to use the ability before side effects happen varies based on skill and age. It doesn't quite work the same on animals but it can paralyze prey to an extent so it can be used for hunting.
