Excess Flesh

Waited a while to watch this and when I finally did, I was a bit taken aback. Because apparently I had completely forgotten what it was about, or the teaser showed nothing what it was actually about. I was so confused, but yet I sat through the 103 min of what at first glimpse could only be described as horror/torture After first viewing this it’s easy to say that it’s a story about Jill (Bethany Orr), who’s obsessed with her “sexy” roommate Jennifer (Mary Loveless). But the more you watch, the more you see and the more you see, the more it reveals and the more you understand. Jill imprisons Jennifer in their appartment in some weird and twisted way to bring them closer together. I have to be honest that I had to watch it more than once to fully understand its true meaning about wanting more will never satisfy that undying hunger. We consume and consume and consume, but are we ever satisfied? We’re all judged by appearance and we all do so, unconsciously. What are we supposed to look like? How are we supposed to act and behave? Who’s to say what’s right and what’s wrong? What is beauty? I may spiral off into too many directions, but I bet you will too. It’s society's way of telling us what the newest “fad” is, ya know, by letting us know what’s cool and what’s not. The movie dares to touch on some dark subjects such as mental and eating disorder which may be recognizable to some who have experienced it, while to others if not recognizable, then perhaps palpable.  There are so many twists and turns in this story and if you blink, you might miss it. I suggest you pay attention to every single detail. I’ll admit that this movie is not for everybody. Excess Flesh Trailer (2015) SPOILER ALERT AHEAD!

It took me three views of this movie to realize that Jill was actually Jennifer, there was only one person and the giveaway was towards the end when the cops found Jill and Jennifer outside of their apartment (after Jennifer had escaped) They only addressed one person, as if Jennifer was not present and in the end the female cop wanted to take Jill in for a 5150 (Section 5150 is a section of the California Welfare and Institutions Code, which tbh I had to look up) “involuntary psychiatric hold” they only saw one crazy woman...

EXCESS FLESH TRAILER!

A little bit later this year we’ll be releasing the score on cd, in the meantime, we highly recommend this insane film, distributed by Midnight Releasing. Today is also the release day for the DVD edition of ‘Excess Flesh’ a feature film from Patrick Kennelly, the director of clipping.’s ‘Body & Blood’ music video, with a score from Jonathan Snipes of clipping.!!!

We have also added a bunch of stuff from our favorite label, Hausu Mountain, including Davey Harms (formerly Mincemeat or Tenspeed), two cds from Eartheater, and we’ve restocked the brilliant Dreamcrusher tape!!!
