[quilting-is-my-new-hobby]

This was both my largest and longest project to date, spanning from the end of November to the start of the new year to make a queen sized quilt (I promise it is a good queen size with nice overhang, the photo is on a Cal King bed). I thought with the holidays and breaks I’d have more time to finish this, but that was naive thinking with all of the holiday sewing I had to squeeze in.

I used this free 3-yard quilt pattern with about quadruple the number of blocks and a couple of extra borders added on. I am very pleased with the end result and particularly pleased with the quilting, though I did cause myself a decent amount of wrist strain jamming a queen size quilt into my very-normal-sized-not-fancy-at-all sewing machine and doing free motion work. And perhaps hand sewing down 30 feet of binding in two days didn’t help the situation. …Worth it.

Apart from the dragons and basic socks, I think this is the pattern I made the most often in different colourways, 4 or 5 times. I don't have pictures of them all anymore sadly, but coincidentally these two are the first (blue) and most recent (pink).

The pattern is lovely, I do have one tip though: I use a triple crochet (us) or quadruple crochet (uk) as the last stitch of every row, instead of the double crochet (us) or triple crochet (uk) the pattern gives, to make sure the long edge of the triangle isn't too tight.

My 48X50inch first ever blanket!!

Not perfect, but beautifully chosen colors if I do say so myself 💙

It has been decided that this blanket, once intended to be teal and red for myself and my former significant other, is now to be a gift for someone who fell in love with it more than I did. 💜

Materials: Caron Simply soft yarn in Pagoda, Blue Mint, Robin's Egg, Orchid, Grape, and Purple.

(please be advised I made a counting mistake when I started and each color only has 11 rows as their largest run to keep it consistent. If you follow the pattern and don't make the same mistake I did, your blanket will be larger!! 💙💜)

I made little Christmas ornaments for my coworkers! They turned out a little lumpy, but I still think they’re super cute! The two coworkers in my department both have K names, so they will be getting two-of-a-kind ornaments hehe. 🎄

Thank you!! And omg I can't believe I forgot to share the pattern! I made the ears a bit wider for Binx than they were for the gray cat, and made the side pattern pieces about an inch shorter, then used the flap where the bottom pattern piece was longer than the sides to kinda make the neck hole smaller? It'll make sense when you're sewing. Other than that, I made both cats as pattern Here's the link!

I have been gifted a silk painter's leftovers and unwanted experiments. The silks are of lovely quality but some unconventional patterns and colour combinations.

This shawl is the largest piece and in a colour palette I do like, so I'm turning it into a very light slip dress. Here's the free pattern I'm using!

Didn’t really get around to show you what I’ve made lately...

Here’s a Flying Dragon Bookmark, pattern by Akua Lezli. I had barely finished it, when my son took it off my hands. Guess I’ll have to make another one for myself soon.

Love how the yarn plays with the pattern here, in my little Fire Dragon
