Patton loves going to the beach with his friends because the eight of them always have a blast in different ways that make them all happy.
This time though, he wants to go home.
Problem is everyone but Roman wasn’t able to come with him; this wouldn’t be an issue because he’s had a crush on Roman for ages but Roman’s hot and people notice. Patton’s lost track of how many people flirted with him already.
Patton looks over to see Roman chatting up a couple surfers.
His water bottle is empty and he knows there’s a stand where he can get some lemonade so a walk is just what he needs. He makes sure he has his phone and wallet, the only valuables he brought with him then he sets off. He’d ask Roman if he wants anything but he knows better than to interrupt when Roman’s flirting.
Getting away helps Patton control his emotions and keep him from crying.
“Hey Patton! I was wondering if I’d see you today,” comments Thomas.
“Hi Thomas! You know I come to the beach whenever I can,” he replies with a smile.
“Your usual?” Thomas asks.
Patton nods.
Turning to people watch while he waits for his drink to be ready, he smiles at the families enjoying the beach. He even laughs when a Golden Retriever runs up to him, demanding to be pet. The owner apologizes but Patton waves him off; the dog helped him a lot.
“Here you go, buddy.”
Patton pays Thomas for his drink then grabs the cold glass.
“Where are the rest of the guys?” asks Thomas.
“Most of them couldn’t come today besides…Roman.”
Thomas pats his hand while giving him a sympathetic smile.
“See you next time!”
“You better, Patton.”
They exchange smiles before Patton heads back to Roman.
