Another peek from my new series “Big Blooms: Orchids.” I’m so excited to be presenting this new body of work created in collaboration with @chicagobotanic with extraordinarily generous donations of orchids from them, and from dear Peggy and Zeze @zezeflowers and @croft_ogawa. . Rosalind, 2018. This orchid is named after Rosalind Franklin (1920-1958,) an English chemist and X-ray crystallographer, best known for her X-ray photographs of crystallized DNA, taken in the early 1950s, that proved the molecule was a helix.
