so with murderbot, with all of its freedom, the one thing it defines itself by its role as protector. it’s constantly critiquing itself, learning and readjusting. so it drives me utterly insane to think about how this is just who murderbot is. after the massacre at ravihyral where it killed the humans in its charge, it made the most radical change it could to make sure that never happened again. i don’t even know how to fucking say this, like the poem is there. if it had kept being bored and mildly irritated by humans, murderbot might have just continued on like that. but the second IT becomes the danger, it rectifies that
