Making progress!
hey! is your new game gonna be available for phones? also is it possible to add friends/download mods like in eternitchi?
No, this game is going to be for PC. It's main thing is being a desktop buddy of sorts, so I don't know how I'd translate that to mobile.
This game in particular is very simple and does not have a friendship feature, but you do get to draw your own food items and make custom eggs / growth lines, which you will be able to share with other people.
That virtual pet sim you are working on looks really cool! I've got a few questions about it. Does it run in real time, will the game still run when it's closed (so the pet will still grow but also lose stats overtime), how long could it reasonably be left alone without dying, and does the growth chart work like it does on the connections with both physical and mental care mistakes influencing evolution? Because it looked like that from one of the screenshots.
Thank you! I'm glad you like what I've shown so far!
As for the questions:
It does run in real time! I will also add a turbo mode that will make time go faster, making them needier but also making it take less time to reach the care goals needed to get the higher tier characters.
You can close the main window and have it run in the background or having the pets appear in smaller windows and accompany you while you do other stuff, like I'm doing right now as I write this:
If you close the game completely, it will keep track of the last time it was open so, when you open it again, the pets will age up to a certain point (about the time it would take them to get hungry 30 times.) Their stats will also decrease, but way slower than usual. They can get sick if you don't open the game for a long time, but not die. (Unless they were already one sickness away from death…)
Care does not really work the same way it does on Tamagotchis, but there is physical and mental care.
The pets' stats start out having a maximum capacity of 2. By filling up their meters without letting them stay at 0, this max will increase up to 4.
Good physical care is achieved by getting their stomach's maximum capacity up to 4 and by avoiding sickness.
Good mental care is achieved by getting their mood's maximum capacity up to 4, feeding them different kinds of food and winning different games. So feeding them the same thing over and over again and only playing one game is a bad idea.
This way you won't get the best characters by doing the bare minimum and you won't need to neglect them too badly to get the bad ones!
