Inspired by...
While creating new work for my thesis project, I have been looking at a variety of different artists for inspiration. This is an important aspect to creating work, at least for me anyway. I feel that it is important to become familiar with what other artists have created in the same realm of what I am trying to accomplish. Seeing how other artists deal with the idea of perception and manipulation helps not only spark ideas for my own project, but also allows me to process exactly what I am trying to communicate with my images.
I wanted to share a few photographs that have inspired me throughout this project! You can also see this post along with more of my work at andrea-deibert.squarespace.com!

Developing My Senior Thesis:
Just last week I started my final semester of my senior year at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design! Words cannot express how excited I am to dive into my thesis project for this year! After a whole lot of second-guessing and frustration, I decided to change my project idea late in the fall semester; I had trouble staying motivated and creating new work with my previous idea, In order to clear my head, I focused mainly on an exhibition we had approaching in December, which involved ideas discussed in Plato's Allegory of the Cave.
The image shown is one I created when processing these ideas of perception and how we view reality. I have been experimenting with reflections and manipulating the scene, causing the viewer to question if what they are seeing is real. While this project is still in its beginning stages, I must say I am very happy with my first attempt! I have some big plans in store, so hopefully you'll hang in there with me while I try and survive this semester!
