Developing My Senior Thesis:
Just last week I started my final semester of my senior year at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design! Words cannot express how excited I am to dive into my thesis project for this year! After a whole lot of second-guessing and frustration, I decided to change my project idea late in the fall semester; I had trouble staying motivated and creating new work with my previous idea, In order to clear my head, I focused mainly on an exhibition we had approaching in December, which involved ideas discussed in Plato's Allegory of the Cave.
The image shown is one I created when processing these ideas of perception and how we view reality. I have been experimenting with reflections and manipulating the scene, causing the viewer to question if what they are seeing is real. While this project is still in its beginning stages, I must say I am very happy with my first attempt! I have some big plans in store, so hopefully you'll hang in there with me while I try and survive this semester!
