Past Forward
PCNW August 17 - 31, 2023
This year I made a pinhole photograph of PCNW for their auction. It is a two week exposure of the building from across the street. The Photo Center will not be in this building for much longer (because they are getting a brand new building that is being developed over the next year or two!) but this will always be the building that I got to know this amazing community in. I'm happy I could make an image commemorating this space that I spent so much time in over the last 19 years. I started volunteering in 2004, mixing chemicals and checking out equipment for the B&W darkroom, then I worked on staff for several years and during that time I was printing in the color darkroom and taking classes and workshops. Finally I started teaching here in 2011 after I got my MFA. So many great memories!
Please consider making a bid on this photo in the upcoming Auction Oct 20th to support this amazing organization that has been supporting photography and photographers here in Seattle since the early 1980's, especially as they get ready to move into a new building! Today is the last day to buy tickets and you can already bid make bids online for the silent auction, check out all the work here: https://pcnw.org/benefit/auction-items/
