Will Herondale or Magnus Bane?
IDONTKNOWOHMYGOD the obvious choice would be Will but i havent read about him in SO long i think its been years, so i honestly feel more attached to Magnus here and i refuse to forget his whole importance to every shadowhunter’s story YAY i love my wonderful warlock
Chaorian or williamxjem (fuck I don't know their ship name, WAIT I REMEMBER) heronstairs? I hope you know the latter.
....whY okay i only read clockwork angel so far so idk if their brotp gets better in the others but i love heronstairs ??? also i love chaorian???? why are you making me choose rIP
BOTH I CHOOSE BOTH chaorian bc chaol loves dorian so much and heronstairs bc it’s freaking heronstairs siGH
I think you have solved my problem with the rowaelin ship. I have been trying to pinpoint why I dont die hard ship it and after reading your view about them, I felt the exact same way. I love rowan and aelin and they are pretty cool together too (although I would have appreciated the platonic relationship much better, like Natasha and steve. That was a good comparison), but their train went zooming too fast and I couldn't catch the train fast enough.
Exactly. Like it’s honestly not a bad ship. It just hit WAY TOO FAST. It made sense when Dorian and Celaena got together after only a few chapters because he was so charismatic and they were flirting almost immediately.
And it made sense her and Chaol got together so quickly because they started thinking about each other more and getting nervous around each other and when it happened, it just felt RIGHT. But her and Rowan happened without anything more than a few tiny hints and so it ended up being really confusing. I immediately felt the need to reread Heir of Fire and see if I missed anything. It happened too quickly for any of us to really form a bond to it.
Especially because Chaolaena and Dorlaena shippers were probably more anxious about their ships than a new one. Chaolaena in particular, because of the “I’ll always pick you” line and their being apart for an entire book. We were too anxious to see a good ending of that ship that we didn’t really feel comfortable with a new one being so heatedly introduced.
It was too quick. It was platonic and then it was like a new writer came in and decided “hmmm I like them as romantic more” but they hadn’t set enough groundwork to make sense yet. It was rushed.
Fuck yes your rant was amazing as pizza. My two friends don't see the flaws because they are so wrapped up with rowaelin and don't question the inconsistencies. I just wanted to clarify that chaol and Nesryn did do the deed many times before throne of glass. My friends said that they didn't but I thought they were together before. So did they fuck and stuff before? Bless your soul fierce blackbeak. Haters gonna hate but that's what makes me great :P
PIZZA IS PRETTY AMAZING, SO THANK YOU FOR COMPARING MY RAMBLINGS TO SOMETHING THAT GR8.Yes. Chaol and Nesryn fucked before ToG. I quote from QoS, “A year ago, a bit shattered and reckless from Lithaen’s betrayal, it had intrigued him enough that he’d spent the summer sharing her bed … He’d needed it- the distraction and release- after Lithaen had left him for the charms of Roland Havilliard.” Lithaen was Chaol’s love interest prior to Celaena’s arrival in Adarlan.
I have only recently finished book 2 and my main question was if Laurent knew about damen's identity. Laurent is the type that will find out something if he wanted to and I can't help but think that Laurent would have tried to find who damen was. Your essay was really informal and good by the way :)
I didn’t start questioning whether Laurent knew until I saw other fans discussing it, so you’re way ahead of me! Glad you’ve found the Captive Prince series and are enjoying it, and that you liked the essay.
I agree - I think if Laurent didn’t know we’d see him trying to figure out more about Damen throughout Book 1 and 2. It’s a big clue!
Yaaaasss throne of ass I mean Glass. Welcome to badass assassin academy
