So, do we have any District 6 Peacekeepers in our midst?
Peacekeeper Draft
I believe I can consider myself lucky.
As many people know, last night was the Peacekeeper draft, and 2,000 of us were getting chosen to be them. The whole day I didn't see very many Peacekeepers wandering around, but right before I was going to head up to bed, a Peacekeeper strolled by the window. I was too happy, that I didn't think much of it. Until I heard the knocking.
Knock, knock, knock.
Heave and strong- it was as clear as day and woke me up from my incoherent state. I raced to the door, scared to open it. Reluctantly, I did, just as my younger brother Rowan raced down the stairs, a frightened look covering his face. He knew I was eligible, but for the past few days he didn't say much about it.
No one was behind the door. A rush of relief flew through me, and color rose back into my brother's face. Ash raced to me and I enveloped him into a hug. "It's not done yet though," I whispered. He nodded as he pulled away.
Knock, knock, knock.
There was a burst of crying coming from outside. I grabbed Ash's hand and we went out to see who was being forced to be a Peacekeeper. It was our neighbor's daughter, Rose. She was only fifteen, with long strawberry blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. Innocent and undeniably sweet.
Rose walked out of the house with her mother in her arms. The mother was taking it worse than Rose was. She comforted her, and told her that it will all be alright. She was still going to be here 'little blossom,' through thick and thin. Once she let go of her mother, she stood there, facing the Peacekeepers.
"The Capitol and Mayor Hunter have decided that you're suitable to be a Peacekeeper for your district. Congratulations," said the Peacekeeper, as he handed over the crystal white envelope to Rose. She nodded once and grabbed her mother, bringing them both quickly into their house. By now, most of the street was watching the incident.
The Peacekeeper turned to look at me and Ash, with his stern face as cold as ice. I held his gaze for a few moments, until the Peacekeeper broke it and started walking away. In a huff, I grabbed Ash and brought him into the house.
I hoped I'd never see a Peacekeeper again.
Panem October Peacekeepers
Panem October peacekeeper draft today. Freaking out! I just realised that I freak out a lot. Anywho, I don't know if I want to be a peacekeeper or not. They can remove scans from people or block access to accounts for short periods of time. The fact that this is randomly assigned makes me so scared that it will be abused.
Anyone else who has been drafted as a Peacekeeper having difficulty updating their profile?
Like, not being able to do so at all?
Keeping my e-mail open for the next few minutes.
I'm going to be continuously refreshing my Twitter, Tumblr and PanemOctober, so I can watch when other people get their e-mails. And hopefully, I will not get an e-mail.
drafts...
Eirlys will indeed be having a sleepless night tonight. Drafts for peacekeepers are coming near, only moments away... and that has kept Eirlys wide awake and restless...
Despite all her coaching to her fellow district nine friends to have a good sleep, Eirlys will not be having any.
Peacekeeper Draft
I have stayed awake until it turned to 9 October 2011. I don't know what time the notifications will be delivered for the draft. But if any of you get one, please post here and let me know. I am absolutely riddled with nerves.
