6/28 - The Homestead (1.13)
Hello Earpers!
Today’s work took well over 6 hours to complete, and I’ll tell you why: I downloaded Blender.
So, today I (1) taught myself how to basically use Blender and (2) made the Homestead. I ended up making some of the parts in Blender and some of the parts for the house in Unity. Like, here’s the porch rendered in Blender:
I was then able to make the “Earp” overhang over the driveway at the front of their land too.
Now everything I have so far is put together and you can walk Wynonna around the land and “enter” the Homestead. I’m planning on rendering the Homestead inside as another scene that your game loads; it’ll make it significantly easier for the rendering.
So, here’s a quick side-by-side of what I was able to do:
I hope to go in again to my files and tweak some things for even more detail, since I just started learning Blender today. But I don’t think that’s too shabby.
I have the house set up so as you walk up to the door, it says “Entering the Homestead” in the top right of your screen, and then it takes you to the new load that will be the inside of the Homestead.
Here’s a more close-up picture if you guys want some more details:
I’ll put some chairs and other things out in the yard, as well as the barn, on another day. My eyes are exhausted from that 6 hours of toying around with the programs. If anyone still has any idea of how to make the mouse movement happen, let me know! And please send me your logo ideas for the front menu screen.
Thanks Earpers!
