Just gave Peach her first ever insulin shot and I did it all by myself and she was so calm and wonderful 🥺🥺🥺 This is a huge relief because I am a big empathetic baby who cried yesterday when I was just practice-injecting her with saline at the vet while Peach was chill and cozy in a purrito and full of her salmon gogurt that they bribed her with. I knew if she struggled or got upset at me in any way, I'd freak out and have to go wake up my wife to help hold her for the first few times at least haha, but NO! We're good!! She's so brave!!! Didn't even need a purrito blanket, just sat there purring right by my legs while I told her how perfect she is.

She loves her new prescription food too so so so so much and I've finally been able to solve her "I will not drink water out of any kind of dish or cup or glass and I will only drink it if you sprinkle kibble into it, but I will NOT eat the kibble and I will NOT drink much because it'll all get sucked up into the kibble but if you put TOO MUCH water, I won't drink it—" issue because, good news, she loves her new food to the degree that if I put water in the bowl after she's done literally licking it clean and mix it up a little, she realizes the water tastes like her food and so she'll drink it all immediately. Still checking her heart out to see if she can handle anesthesia and they can see if her teeth are the cause of this new development, but at least for now I know she'll be hydrated. Just a lot of relief today. This is a really great start. Bonus picture to celebrate, featuring a rug made and sent to me by my wonderful friend Ritchie 🥺
