peachtiger replied to your post “Did you like sasusaku pairing?”
Not to be rude....but Sasuke was pretty much a dick to everyone, even Orochimaru. However he was later redeemed. And apologized to Sakura for what he did, I think she was the only person he apologized to? But anyways, at some point Sasuke does make amends with the other characters, mostly near the final arcs.
He goes through his own self-redemption and becomes the shadow hokage to the leaf village. And as for his relationship with Sakura, they didn't immediately get together, his feelings for her were implied in the beginning, like you already pointed out Studio P. butched it a lot. But eventually after he returns from his joureney of sel-redemption they do get together at some point. I believe in abusive characters that are carefully redeemed but not excused from shitty
behavior, and they're handled properly. However I can see how you'd dislike this pairing either way.
Yeah, this is why I made it clear I don’t know how it all went down during the final arcs. If he did honestly make an effort, then I’m glad to hear it, because I, too, enjoy redemption arcs and wanted to see him make amends. The part that saddens me is that his journey happens off-screen, if I understand correctly (I did read the last chapter and he leaves right after he recovers from his fight with Naruto, right?). It’s not that I have a hard time believing it, I just wanted to actually witness it, even partly.
As for his relationship with Sakura, my issue is that up to the very end, she’s still the one making that extra step forward. After that one, glorious moment of calling him out when he apologizes, I wanted to see her make him work for it, y’know?
That’s not criticism of Sakura, mind you; it’s criticism of Kishimoto for not giving her the opportunity to say for once: “Okay, enough. I’ve made my feelings clear, Sasuke is back and safe, the rest is up to him.” I wasn’t expecting any grand gestures or anything (it’s Sasuke, after all), but how wonderful would it have been to have Sasuke ask Sakura if she’d be willing to wait for him until he returns, instead of having Sakura be yet again turned down? It’s really the small things that could’ve made this so much better.
I can see the appeal of the ship, and I’m certain that there must be countless fics out there that handle their relationship 1000% better than Kishi ever did, addressing all the issues and resolving them in a satisfactory manner that doesn’t make excuses for Sasuke.
