I love this exchange because it represents the first time I've ever had cause to wonder if CB was peakradfem.  p.s. Cathy Brennan is seriously a goldmine. Except instead of gold, it's shit.

p.p.s. Despite any issues I have with peakradfem, I realize it is a terrible and unfair thing to do to accuse them of being Cathy Brennan. My apologies.

First up: How many parts are there to the concept known as "gender"? 2 - You state: " However, I think there should be treatment options that aren’t only limited to transitioning." Why aren't you aware that there are such? 3 - Many Trans people do: "what would happen if you transitioned and didn’t change your name, your pronouns and your clothing style?". You were aware of that, correct? 4 - How would abolishing Gender end gender dysphoria (in detail)?

...You have a lot of nerve to think that we're obligated to answer ANY of your fuckin' questions when you use this blog to target radfems, add them to lists, and harrass them. 

You're scum for targeting and harassing women, and if you really were interested in learning, you wouldn't have already made your mind up to make a blog just to attack us, goodbye.

Public Service Announcement

Peakradfem is a troll blog. Whether or not it's really run by Toni D'Orsay (seems very likely to me), it's obviously not run by a "collective of 9 women", and tbh I seriously doubt there are any females involved.

While it's been morbidly entertaining (mildly) to see so much bs on my dash during the last week that I un-blocked prf, I'm blocking them again. I hope that everyone else does as well.

Tumblr friends, you have MUCH better things to focus your energy on, than arguing with a nitwit troll!

Still missing the point...

The origins of PR are lost to the catacombs, and we lost a lot of good stuff from back then. When we had to move here (which is why it is called "II"), we put this up so that people would have an idea of what we were about.

In it, we explain that we are not "about" trans people. We are about reflecting something.  The art and craft of satire is lost on people these days -- they don't understand the fullness of it, the rich texture that fills it, the commitment to it that is required. Hell, most folks view gulliver's travels as children's book, these days.

So, since several people have decided to take what we said previously and try to use it to make us into something we aren't, we thought we would repost this -- in no small part thanks to TIP, who resurrected it for their purposes.

And so, without further ado, why people are *still* missing the point:

So before we were so rudely taken off the air, we saw someone write that we hadn’t converted any radfems to our cause.

We call that missin the point.

Peak Radfem isn’t about converting anyone to our cause.  We don’t care about that.

We aren’t here to make people think better of trans people. We aren’t here to get people to give up their ideas.  Heck, we don’t even care if they stop hatin trans people.

We are here to make fun of the way that some people pick on trans people. We do that by making the same kind of outlandish claims that they do.  We don’t misgender people, but we do cuss.  Each time we cuss, that’s just like calling a trans woman a male or a man, or callin a trans man a female or woman.

That’s why we do it that way.

We do what they do.  So if we come across as crazy, or stalking, or mean — well, that’s because that is how radphlegm’s come across.

That’s it.  That’s’ all we are doing.

We are not social justice warriors

We are not trans activists

We are not here to educate you. We are not here to enlighten you.

we are just people who are sick and tired of the phlegm that some people hurl at trans people and so are giving it right back to them.

That’s called a mirror.  And sometimes, that means the mirror we hold up to them isn’t going to be pretty.

Because what they are doing isn’t pretty.
