Sage monitored the entire situation even as Mayor Whiskers arrived to see what was happening. Clover did calm down and soon welcome two mini mayors into the world!
Everyone has been so busy since Antonia and Deacon returned from their honeymoon that they haven’t had a chance before now to get together. The first orders of business varied depending on who was talking. Sam and Riya were more interested in the honeymoon in Selvadorada while Sage needed to give more details, that hadn’t fit in her notes, about the invisible fence that she had installed in their absence.
“All three of them escaped on a combined total of 13 times,” Sage told her sister. “Clover and Peanut both got terribly sick from eating something down on the beach that I believe to be an invasive plant. Princess was the least troublesome of them all, but she was so needy.”
“I’ve noticed,” Antonia said. “She hasn’t left me alone since we returned. I do see the invisible fence working, though I think Peanut has a terribly sensitive stomach. I need to bring him up to the clinic...”
While everyone else talked a little boy decided to explore. He’d been to his aunt’s home several times and each time he’d explored a little more depending on his capability. Now that he could open doors there was nothing stopping him from seeing everything.
[Peanut now wears the top hat since the passing of his father, Mayor Whiskers.]
After the kittens were bathed and loved-on by both Clover and Mayor Whiskers, Sage and Clover took the time to name each kitten. Sage gently picked up the kitten with a flatter head and wider body. He pawed at her face playfully. She decided to name him Milo. Antonia had her eyes on the slightly smaller kitten with wide eyes. This little boy wasn’t so eager to play right away but was very curious about her fingers. Antonia named him Peanut.
Through all of the excitement Rocco remained asleep just a couple feet away. The old doggo wasn’t disturbed by a distressed Clover or arriving kittens or even excited teenage girls. He just carried on sleeping sweet doggy dreams.
