Going Mostly CC-Free
I don’t play Sims the way I used to, and when I do get the urge to play I find myself faced with the grueling task of going through my mods and CC and figuring out what needs to be updated, what’s obsolete, what’s just plain broken... And by the time I’m done I’ve lost the urge to play.Â
I’ve been toying with the idea of going CC-free or at least mostly CC-free and recent things revealed about the MCCC Discord admins sort of helped me decide that, yeah, we’re just dumping it all. Clean slate, more or less. It’s not that I’m associating all of the CC and mods I have with MCCC but it just sort of tipped the decision for me toward just “clear it all out and start fresh.”
I’m keeping CC that I’ve made, custom berry skintones, custom maps, Peacemaker’s window/door add-ons, Brazenlotus’ custom vegetables, and a few other random pieces of CC that I recognize that I use A LOT. I’m keeping “More CAS Columns” and “UI Cheats Extended,” which beside the garden mods from Brazenlotus should be the only thins I need to check on after patches.
Before I started, my Mods folder was at 10.1GB and ended at 1.76GB. It feels very liberating. It’s going to break my current saves A HELL OF A LOT but... If I want to save any of those families I may just decide to relocate them to a new save. But that’s if I go back.
