Made with ripe pears and a mixture of spices and cinnamon, this jam is aromatic and sweet. Ideal as a versatile condiment or for spreading on pastries for breakfast.
Ingredients: 6 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and diced. 2 cups granulated sugar. 1 lemon, juiced and zested. 1 cinnamon stick. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. 1/4 cup water.
Instructions: Diced pears, sugar, lemon juice, zest, and water should all be combined in a large saucepan. To the saucepan, add the ground cloves, ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon stick, and ground cinnamon powder. Transfer the mixture to a boiling point by placing the saucepan over medium-high heat. Once the pears are soft and the jam has thickened, reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture, stirring from time to time, for 45 to 50 minutes. Take out and discard the cinnamon stick from the jam. Carefully blend the jam with an immersion blender or a standard blender until it's smooth, leaving it slightly chunky if you'd like. Place the blended jam back into the saucepan and simmer it for a further ten to fifteen minutes, or until the consistency you desire is achieved. After taking the saucepan off the stove, allow the jam to cool slightly. After sterilizing the jars, pour the pear cinnamon jam inside and close the lid firmly. Before placing the jam in the refrigerator, let it cool completely. Savor your homemade pear cinnamon jam as a delectable condiment or on toast or muffins!
