“           listen   ----   paying  a  bunch  of  won  for  christmas  gifts  isn’t  exactly  what  i  would  call  an  enjoyable  past-time.       ya   , did  you  forget  what  i  do  for  a  living ?      i  cherish  my  hard-earned  money.      ”           with  his  hands  tucked  away  in  his  hoodie  pocket    ,      head  dipped  and  turned  towards  the  other   ----   seo  hanbin  would  let  out  a  dead  snort.      all  around  them   ,     lights  were  being  hung  on  every  visible  building  and  the  early  winter  snow  had  already  begun  to  settle   ,     thus  making  the  mood  THAT  much  more  festive  and  ....   ominous.       after  all    ,     this  was  his  first  year  actually  engaging  in  holiday  shenanigans  since  he  was    ,     technically  ,     NOT  alone  ---    thanks  to  his  newfound  companion.       as  much  as  he  liked  the  warm  and  fuzzy  feeling  it  gave  him   ;     hanbin  still  had  a  difficult  time  grasping  the  concept  of   ‘  being  jolly.  ’      “       i  appreciate  you  asking  me  on  this  shopping  trip   ,    but   do  we  really  need  to  get  gifts  for  each  other ?       isn’t  my  presence  a  present  enough   for  everyone   ?      ”

‘ ani. it’s christmas parties that suck, ’ hyuk makes his statement adamantly --- as if to convince them that he’s most certainly right when it comes the opinion he holds. ‘ this is an after christmas party. no presents. no money involved. just food --- and cute christmas costumes. you’re having fun, right ? ’ his eyebrow arches in curiosity as he awaits the response to his oh so important inquiry. meanwhile, the sugar-filled snack that he’s gnawing on is being consumed, crumbs falling everywhere. hyuk is boyishly clumsy.

‘ uh ---.... ’ shame tints his cheeks, feet shuffling, and fingers are diligent in busying themselves with whatever skin they can find in order to hide the guilt minjae feels. ‘ i was late ‘cause -- ‘cause my phone died. and then jason said he didn’t have a charger so i couldn’t check the time....’ the rambling excuses continue to tumble out of his mouth far too quickly, his eyes averted to the floor instead of fawn’s eyes. ‘ and then we went for ice cream and i wanted chocolate so i had some, i’m sorry. ’

‘ can you help me with something ? ’ even though it’s placed as a question, jung knows better than to ever believe that joongi will tell him no. and so, with this fact in mind he continues his proposition. ‘ help me pick between my sunglasses. i need to look good at the airport tomorrow, but i can’t choose between three pair. but just tell me that i look cute in all of them, since i do. ’ it isn’t often that jung values anyone else’s opinion about anything, specifically what he himself chooses to wear that day, but joongi had showed him that it was okay to take constructive criticism sometimes. he’s grown a bit in that area. ‘ also....i’m still begging you to come with me. ’

‘ can you pay attention to me ? i missed you while you were gone. ’ the coo comes out in the sweetest of tones --- much opposite to jason’s usual personality when it comes to interacting with other people, but odessa has a hold on his heart that other’s simply don’t. ‘ i don’t like when you’re gone ‘cause i’m bored when you’re away and don’t know what to do with myself. ’ besides his daily list of chores that he happily complies with. all the while, he’s needily curling himself up beside her, tugging at the fabric of the shirt that clads her body as if to gain attention.
