oh heck. OKAY. from a “personal development” point of view…… priyanka. she went from utterly controlling (although without any ill will) to accepting, empathetic, still worried, but trusting her daughter. trusting her ability, and to know what she wants for herself. she had “no lies” as a rule, realized she was why her daughter would lie, and then made that promise again–to not lie. which means believing in connie when connie says she can do it. 

when connie doesn’t doubt herself, she doesn’t doubt connie. she trusts to get the straight truth from her daughter, and that meant accepting the truth even when it’s something that scares her. because her bond and the absolute trust she has with her daughter means more to her than controlling connie so she never has to be afraid.

as in class of gem? a sapphire for sure. as in specific pre-existing gems we know? blue pearl blue pearl blue pearl. at least how i imagine her. she’s obviously very “in her own head”, but i imagine when she lets her guard down (and conditioning) she can be just as excitable and goofy as our pearl!!!! and “has anxiety and worries too much but also will not hesitate to scream if it’s important to me” is my entire personality
