Tried watching the American version of Ghosts again. It's worse. Definitely worse. But in, like, an *insulting* way. They removed every subtlety! Do they think my American brain was incapable of comprehending that Captain was in the closet without him making stereotypical jokes about it every three sentences??? And they made Fanny younger and "hotter". For why? Hhh. Agh. Argh. I need to make art of the original BBC series.

I miss Kittie.

OOOO does Vivziepop know how to make me mad. I didn't mind season 1, although I haven't bothered with 2. I wasn't too upset with Sir Pentious because he's a living anachronism anyway. But one look at pallet-swapped Wilbur Soot over here probably made my ailing body go into another damn fever.

Did most elements of this outfit exist at the time? Technically. Most. Not that hairdo. Would a fashionable young "dapper" (as the show often describes him) African-American man in 1920s New Orleans wear any of it? Not if he didn't want to get bullied by his peers for dressing like an old British guy in something that was also several sizes too small for him.

The hair especially, dear God. They took this man to a 2019 UK barber and then dressed him for a 1960s movie musical about Edwardians. I get that the creators say he has a white parent, but the looser curl texture does not excuse the length and low amount of styling!

The background designers knew at least slightly better, though they still whiffed it with the women and gave the men a style used for wavy or straight hair.

(Seriously, why are two of the dresses form fitting and why is that old lady dressed like a 20-year-old? Is it a midlife crisis??)

i'll likely never socialize on tumblr mostly because i see cool people who i might wanna be friends with and then i remember i'm a psycho and for some reason that means theres this little invisible barrier that says "hey you talk about nasty stuff in the eyes of the general public so you also dont get to interact with them"

this isn't me complaining btw this is me bragging i love being isolated but i imagine it sucks for many people

Felt like laughing at bad philosophy and finally watched the last God's Not Dead movie. Guess who decided to use a court case as inspiration that affected my loved ones and that our side actually WON as "inspiration" for their bullshit anti social services and anti-schooling movie? Apparently, they did! Didn't expect to get genuinely pissed at these dumb films, but here we are.

This is the state of being a young trans person in America. We won that shit for once in our goddamn lives, but they're still trying to use it against us.
