In this blog, I explain some of the useful tips to help you create floor tiles from pebble stones. Check out the following pointers –
Choose the pebble stones. Calculate the area to be covered and share your requirement with a trusted stone/tile shop.
Wash, rinse and dry the stones.
Apply mortar on 1 sq. ft. area on the floor.
Fix stones one by one on the mortar. Do not press the stone deep in the mortar.
Apply mortar on the adjoining 1 sq. ft. area on the floor.
Repeat the step 4.
Repeat the step 5. And cover the entire floor likewise.
Allow 24 hours to dry.
Apply sealer.
Apply cement-sand based grout on the floor. First, mark the area (for example: 1 sq.ft or 2 sq.ft.) on the floor. You can use a thread to mark the area, which to be grout.
Allow 30 minutes while the grout sets.
Wipe the excess grout using a wet hand towel.
Apply another layer of sealant.
Rest for another 24 hours.
Your floor is ready.
