Oooh, I really like this question, but at the same time, I was like, “All. Of. Them.” in my head. One of the many reasons why I like Frank’s music so much. Like, he really knows where to hit you where it hurts, emotionally, but at the same time, it’s relatable. Anyway! To the question!
1. Stage Four: Fear of Trying. I know we just talked about this song the other day, so I won’t get into the details again, ha.
2. Medicine Square Garden. This song is an absolute roller coaster that just goes up and down in my opinion, but like, in a good way. It sounds batshit crazy at certain points and really pretty at others.
3. Guilttripping. This is the song on Stomachaches that really hits me where it hurts in terms of lyrics and emotions. The “I've felt this bad for so long that I'm scared I'm fine.” line? I’m sure we’ve all felt that at some point. Thank you Frank for putting it into words.
4. The Resurrectionist or an Existential Crisis in C#. This song doesn’t make me emotionally, per say, but I hold it close to my heart because it brings me comfort and it just makes me feel happy for some odd reason.
5. No Love. One of the songs of the last year where I just did not like it at first listen, but now I fucking love it. That guitar and the drums? Fantastic. I space out to this song and just feel the heartbreak and it even tugs at my heartstrings. I’m just like, “Frank, who hurt you?”
