Even more belated TDD responses
Thanks to everyone who responded to my TDD question about peer revision in class! Here are the responses:

Give them a checklist & timer on the board. For that time, no talking. If they finish early, read it backwards to check for sense in sentence

I do individual writing conferences with my 5th and 6th graders; I find it’s more effective than peer editing. It does take longer, though.

i do it where they have 4 minutes to read and make comments, and then the papers rotate. my 6th graders don’t have time to chit chat that way

Peer revision can be great if you ask the students to bring in 3 copies of a rough draft and hand them out to three people in their group
Thanks so much for the recommendations. I'll be using a timed peer-revision activity tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it goes!
