I think that Evelyn/Natalie would offer a lot of interesting dynamics because of the history they have and it’s a real shame they never got to see each other again after Evelyn faked their death. I can imagine a lot of softness and subtlety in their relationship; steeling glances while working together, light brushes they can pass of as accidental, gentle smiles that can be written off as just the way Natalie’s face falls or Evelyn in a rare moment of levity, stolen kisses far from prying eyes and a dinner they won’t be missed at. It’s interesting to me.

💢: Ship that is most misunderstood

I could have said something mean here, but instead I’ll just talk about another one of my rarepairs. I think that the flatness of the characters in the main text makes it easy to see most of these characters as static; they are as they have always been as they will always be. But if you read between the lines there’s potential for characters to well and truly bring out the best in each other and this shines through in Peter and Caleb. Their story isn’t one about two villains finding their commonalities, it’s about two deeply damaged young men finding their grounding as everything they thought they knew slips through their fingers. They heal and they get the chance to be better with each other and with the people around them.
