A transitional area between Brutalia and the Greenhouses has been discovered. The newly found entity here traverses the terrain with ease, somehow keeping pseudoflora out of its long tail. It is theorized that it may be related to Princes.
Sooooooo here's a new question! I noticed that some entities only appeared in only one kind of location each, such as longlegs live in Brutalia, leaf mimics live in Rubberwoods; but for others like sailors, seems to be able to live in different locations.
Is there exists other entity also live in mutiple locations like Sailor, or it's actually the majority of cases?
Areas are primarily a categorization used to describe locations within the Far Plane that possess certain unique characteristics, and not a wholly accurate reflection of how the extraplanar biomes work. That being said, many entities rely on the specific habitats that the qualities of some areas provide.
Longlegs do not take well to moisture, and so they are mostly confined to the dry concrete of Brutalia. Even after a certain point, Longlegs are not found in the transition to Ecobrutalia due to increased humidity. Likewise, Pelets prefer the humidity of Ecobrutalia but do not seem to take well to the more confined spaces of the Greenhouses.
Sailors primarily inhabit places with large amounts of water 2. Many areas fit this descriptor, so they are widespread. The same can be said of Maax; they are found in more places than the Far Plains as they take best to open areas. While they retain a weakness to water, even the Port is safe for them within the shore area.
Night Skies are also such an entity, the requirements of their environment primarily includes darkness and moisture. Deep Pipework and Mariana, for this reason, are the areas they are most often found in. Queens have a similar tendency for dark areas and the Scopopede seems to only require its environment being an interior.
With this being said, ultimately, entities spanning several areas are mostly the exception and not the rule. Tolerance of different environments varies from entity to entity, and the general trend thus far has been the requirement of one or more specific features to thrive. Only some entities have these requirements be more broad.
( this is more for the creators of zooliminology)
( do you guys have a favorite entity in terms of design like how it was made where the concept came from etc , or is it more the case that every entity is a favorite )
[I highly enjoy Princes, Pelets and the Scopopede personally- Pelets are based off of pele's tears, which are a naturally made sort of rupert's drop which I think is really interesting.
The scopopede is also based on my own mild scopophobia and I just like how the design turned out.
I know Rook is also a big fan of the Scopopede.
The Dandylion is also a favorite among the team!]
I love the Prancers, so I'm going to ask things about them:
Do they ever get things stuck on their antler/growth things, like deers?
Are they hard like metal, or soft and squishy?
Obviously, the Far Plane is a bit funky when it comes to how life works there, but do you think they could be ""related"" (as far as that word applies) to the Princes?
Prancers have never been seen struggling through their environment or with their appendages, even through narrow or crowded areas.
While physical contact has not been initiated yet, they are assuredly metallic, as heard through their footsteps.
Pelets are closer to Princes in appearance and behavior and yet their relation cannot be proven. While it is not impossible, gaining any evidence that could prove relation is highly improbable.
mees got a feww questions!! 1: how would night skies react if a plastic glowy star was added to the enclosure? 2: Can i skrungle the pelet? 3: what would happen if i replaced the water2 coating on droplets with H2O? 4:what would happen if i somehow popped a spume? 5: why are ghosts so.. malice... 6:what would happen if i were to make a circle of target balls and trap a longleg in it?
Most likely nothing. Transportation of night skies onto Earth has been postponed due to concerns of proper care along with an unknown spread potential.
I do not know what "skrunkling" is.
Dropletts cannot form coatings out of regular water, although they are able to move around inside of it just fine.
Spumes that are popped become unable to move on their own. However, if submerged in water 2 they will regain their bubbles.
Their eyes are red and reflect when a light is pointed at them. For all that is known, it is highly likely this effect is similar or the same to the human red-eye effect.
Longlegs are capable of climbing most surfaces with ease. This would not impede the Longlegs in any meaningful way, but it would theoretically be content with the amount of concrete provided due to this.
how do you come up with the ideas for the entities? They all seem so unique and so distinctly not from our world
[It mostly depends on what I'm inspired by. Usually they're based off objects or phenomena I find interesting. Such as princes being based obviously off prince ruperts' drops, and pelets being a combination of pele's hair and pele's tears. Scopopedes are based off of pinatas/ribbons and my own very mild scopophobia. Sailors are based off pool toys and slugcats.
I have a set of rules that I try to mostly follow when making them, some of them including them not being humanoid, not being too organic-looking, etc. etc. etc.
Though please keep in mind I haven't designed every entity!! dropletts and night skies were designed by Cactai, Maax were designed by Jaydan, and several submissions which were made by different people made it onto the blog.]
