Doctor who bodyswap

because it's scifi and because I say so

It's Thirteen and Dhawan Master, because they're my current fixations and something happens. Maybe some inventor tests out a new creation on them somehow, or some kind of timelord-mind-screwing happens and they get stuck in each other's body.

But here's the twist.

It's not a normal mindswap. Their consciousnesses are their own, the Doctor is the Doctor and the Master is the Master, but their physical brains, memories, etc. are still the other person's. So they both can feel everything the other has felt, go through each other's memories, etc.

Just imagine the drama that could happen.

The Doctor could feel whatever damage the cyberium did to the Master, could feel every echo of the drumbeat, every hurt in his hearts, all while feeling the emotional distress, the complicated feelings, the pure rage, and trying to deal with it in a calm manner because holy crap she's the Master now and she can't scare her human friends by having a breakdown.

And the Master can feel all the pain that the Doctor feels from losing her planet again, of having her world turned upside down twice in a very short amount of time, of wanting him back so badly but never being allowed to say it, every dark part of her hearts and every loss and every hurt and all the years bundled neatly into a nice little smile on her lips that he doesn't bother with because it's so much.

And of course watching them be each other would just be funny, aside from the angst.

okay but i'm laughing about the idea of a drunk jaskier getting lost as FUCK one night because he saw a cat's eyes reflect in the darkness and just. fucking. thought it was geralt.

does he know WHY geralt is leading him into the woods at a quick clip and pausing now and then to look back at him before darting ahead? no. but sure why not. he'll follow.

meanwhile: geralt already back in their room and waiting because jaskier said he'd be right up is just ???? where the FUCK is the bard???

okay but given how different jaskier's look is after the mountain with his rockstar jacket and his feather hat, i'm laughing about the idea of him having looked at clothes in that aesthetic before only to have geralt say "you won't like them for longer than a day" because he knows jaskier's tastes and preferences

and jaskier is furious but FINE! FINE! ANOTHER LOVELY DOUBLET IN THE MOST WITCHER-EYE-WATERING COLOR IT IS.

so after the mountain, he decides FUCK IT and gets his godsdamned jacket. geralt doesn't know anything. geralt isn't even around anymore. geralt is-

yes the drama of the spinny tails is fun, but it's SUCH a bold jacket that it only goes with like. THREE LOOKS. and it's too big to carry around so he HAS to wear it.

the reason we keep seeing jaskier in the jacket after he gets back together with geralt is PURELY as a subtle fuck you. LOOK AT THE JACKET, GERALT. HE LIKES IT SO MUCH. HE'S STILL WEARING IT. BECAUSE HE LIKES IT. YOU WERE WRONG. IT'S SO GREAT.

I know in my heart of hearts that modern verse lambert and jaskier are banned from making drinks at house parties because their pours are HEAVY.

the things they turn out are NOT mixed drinks. they are just prolonged shots.

okay but i'm cackling about the first time yen hears burn butcher burn

she and jaskier aren't friends, per se, but more than anything she's still pissed at geralt, so she hears the slam song of the century aimed at their mutual ex and just

no thoughts head empty just soft, domestic geraskier of geralt enjoying watching jaskier read because jaskier is so expressive and geralt likes to imagine what's happening in whatever book he's reading based on what the bard's face is doing

okay but i'm DYING about the idea of lambert having stumbled on lettenhove one day injured from a hunt and on death's door, and jaskier's servants see a wolf medallion and just assume oh!! this must be the lord's witcher!! no idea where the *white* wolf is coming from but what other witcher would come so close to a place that rarely has contracts

and listen. lambert's half gone with bloodloss and potions and isn't 100% present when he's being ushered inside. and even after he's fully conscious again...listen. he's getting breakfast in bed. he's getting baths. he's getting "sir"d. he's getting his stuff washed and mended for him.

he has no clue who the FUCK this julian person is, but he apparently?? just likes witchers?? weirdo, but he's not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

and after that he just...keeps doing it. the lord is never there and has apparently not cleared up *which* witcher he means, and he can smell that no other witchers come here. so sweet. alright. free place to crash that's fully catered.

and he passes this along to eskel, naturally, one day when they meet on the road. lambert's learned that the lord has a smaller home in town and listen he's got dibs on the country estate, but eskel tends to get along with people better anyway, so he can have the townhouse. and eskel doesn't plan to actually do it (he is HEAVILY judging his lil brother, but he won't wreck this for him even if it's a bad idea), but one day he's injured and HAS to have a place to stay to heal. and listen. it's worth a shot.

and then it WORKS.

so lambert and eskel FOR YEARS have these simultaneous pseudo-hussles going on. they still don't know who this viscount is, but he's never home, and they're nice to the servants and help out with stuff like carrying heavy things around, so they're always welcome. and it's nice. having a place to Be.

aaaaaaaand then geraskier happens and jaskier goes to take geralt home to meet people, they get there, jaskier goes "this is the white wolf" and every. single. servant. is like "no????? no he's not????"
