his favorite course will always be arithmancy, it’s the one course that drives theo more than any others because he wasn’t inherently good at it. it took time and practice to understand the complex nature of the subject and it makes his brain work. he’s always been a very good and dedicated student to his education, making himself the top of the slytherin class. this makes him insanely driven to always be the best and highly competitive in nature. 

LUNA LOVEGOOD:

luna lovegood loves creatures more than anything else on this planet. so naturally her favorite course is care of magical creatures as it allows her to explore her one true love. she enjoys getting to spend time with the professor in the course to learn about creatures she may have never heard of or may never get to see in her life. her work ethic very much depends on the class that she’s in. some classes motivate her more than others, if they capture her interest for long enough. 

RON WEASLEY:

ron’s favorite class is defense against the dark arts. it’s the one class that ron actually even cares about. he is well aware of the fact that he is proper shit at every other class and this is the only one he consistently performs well in. at least, well enough. even with the ever changing teachers, this class will always be number one in his heart. he has zero work ethic. that’s his work ethic.

favorite course —

though he’d be reluctant to admit it, marcus has a private affinity for defense against the dark arts. he finds it fascinating, and has always enjoyed the course work, even with the ever-changing roster of professors that have taught it over the years. if anything, that almost makes him like it more — he enjoys the variety of perspectives, the good and the bad, that it’s brought over the years.

work ethic —

when it comes to work ethic, no one is about to accuse marcus flint of being the hardest working wizard around. life is short, he thinks, too short to constantly slave over his studies, especially when he’s part of such a well-connected family. regardless, he ( shockingly ) enjoys school occasionally, and the work he puts in when he’s interested in the course material actually ends up producing good results. while he’s not the top of his class, he’s no idiot, either.

ever since she was young , cho had always been excited for school. the girl never took a class she wasn’t interested in ( well , history of magic was another story ) , and therefore , if you asked her to choose a favourite , she’d give a shy smile and shrug. her study habits are fairly straight forward. she studies early , and does her readings , and asks questions in class. she grates the nerves of every slacker , but is always willing to tutor those in need.

HANNAH ABBOTT:

hannah’s favorite class is herbology, for many different reasons. mostly because it’s taught by her head of house professor sprout, who she loves dearly. she also loves learning about all the different kinds of plants and flowers you can find in the wizarding world.

ROGER DAVIES:

besides flying roger loves muggle studies, he’s a pureblood wizard so he doesn’t know much about the muggle world. he’s curious to learn everything he can about the muggle world so he’s better equipped for the world when he leaves hogwarts. 

KATIE BELL:

katie loves care of magical creatures! she’s really big into animals, as well as flying. if she was a muggle then she probably would’ve been a vet, she’s super interested in animals. she also really likes the teacher who teaches the class, she finds them to be very inspiring too.

pansy enjoyed her class as much as she liked her aunt cindy: barely. she supposed , if she had to choose a favourite class , she’d choose ancient ruins. it was her highest grade. otherwise , she treated her classes with proper indifference -- studying diligently , and unaffectedly. she knew what would be on the test ( and sometimes , she could barely even claim that ) with her lack of interests , it’s startling apparent that her future will greatly rely on siphoning parkinson family funds. 

well , it’s a good thing she’s an only child.

for Artemis, she finds the classes pretty straightforward, not easy but straightforward. Only because does she know how to manage her time well does it make studying for each subject easy, but it’s the class participation that makes it rather difficult. most of the time, she refuses to answer even when she knows the answer to the question - if she did, she could’ve parred with Hermione Granger had it not been due to her introverted nature tends to keep her mouth shut unless called upon. her two favorite subjects would have to be; one, divination, despite its infamous reputation towards its students in the wizarding world, she’s quite fascinated by it, especially since its practices reminds her of her mother. second would have to be astronomy; as just like divination has always had a fascination for the stars and what else lies beyond our solar system.

it is a well known fact that gregory goyle does not take school seriously . he’s either seen sleeping in class , sleeping in the library , or even sleeping during study period . he simply does not care . he’s skillful in the art of copying assignments , even getting lower years to do them for him . and sure , his actions may emanate that of a buffoon , but that isn’t to say he’s unintelligent  book - wise .  he’s indolent . he doesn’t argue , letting people believe what they want to believe . by the time this was all over , he wouldn’t remember them anyway .

he’d say he likes charms , because it’s easy . or herbology because he enjoys the aura of the greenhouses . but it’s secretly muggle studies he’s after . so it comes as a surprise to him when he receives his schedule the summer before fifth year . he charms it before showing his mother and father . arithmancy , it reads . they’re impressed by their son’s interest in the subject . with his friends , his alibi changes every time . after a while they think nothing of it . he threatens his classmates to keep mum and they do . and for some reason they actually respect his decision despite their obvious distaste in him .

she’d tell you she loves divination . maybe it’s because it’s one of the more fun - focused classes , well , depending what your tea leaves prophesied that day . maybe it’s the thrill of the unknown . maybe it’s their absolute kook of a professor , whom she adores . her friends would try to explain that it “ wasn’t a real subject “ but she was always quick to come to its defense .
